For anyone out there who's intersted, Gander Mt. has woolrich 100% wool tartan blankets on sale.
This are 50x60 lap blankets so you will have to sew them togher. I don't know what kind of tartan other GM's might have BUT the one here in Little Rock had a real nice blueish grey with black strips, with a little brown and white. Four of them will make a 5 yard Great kilt, and it's heave wool, some were around 25 weight wool, great for them cold nights on the moor's while walking home to your Glen.
But for fairs in late fall or Early spring when the weather can turn real cool real quick, they would be the "Cat's Meow". And for the price you can't go wrong, to use at fair or to give away next year as a gift. they are saleing them off at $8.95 regular price $40. I just bought 4 to make into a new Great Kilt for $38.80, I thought I would pass this a long to all of ya'll out there.
thats great to know
they just opened a gander about 35 min north of me- the only one in the state.
So you say I need 4 of them to make a great kilt??
Guess I will have to drive up there and take a look, hopefully they have a good color
Looks like you have to visit a store -- I don't see them on their website.
i would call first, i went to my gm in batavia illinois and the lady there checked on the computer and said that there are none at any store in the country, that makes me sad :'(
Well, that woman is full of $h%&, they still have 5 of the grey wool tartan ones at the store in N Little Rock along with 2 white 3 tan 1 black, and a bunch of fleece blankets. They have them in the cabin room, where they have there home decors.
Blast! I live in Missouri, and the nearest Gander mountain is longer then a 4 hour drive away. no cheap wool for me :(
Im driving past Gander tomorrow afternoon.
I will report back if I have any success
cross your fingers for me
