Glad to see the list shaping up! I have been thinking about the menu....I think I will add meatballs for sandwiches, parsley potatoes, and spinach dip
Put me down for Buffalo Chicken Dip...And Syrac and will be Byoc (Bring your own Case).
Ok, I see Buffalo Chicken Dip. I was thinking of bringing some very delicious homemade hot wings (a friend has an excellent sauce recipe).
Who is in favor of that, or is that too much 'hot chicken'?
I don't think you can have too much 'hot chicken'
There can never be TOO much....any and all goodies will be appreciated!
Hot Wings = Amazing!
Soooo...who's staying over night and who's cooking breakfast?

Well...that, and bacon...can't forget the bacon ;)
Laurie asked me to post that she will be making a few cheesecakes...and trust me she makes wonderful cheesecakes. This is really starting to shape up to be one hell of a party. Of course I shall continue to be my shy quiet wall flower self, so you may not even notice I'm there. <sigh>
Shy??? Quiet???? Oh my, Oh my!!!!!
Anyway, barring any last minute schedule changes, Jenny and I are planning on coming in for the festivities. We miss everyone and have a need to be in the company of our "family". I'll post later in the week, to let you know for sure!!!
All my best wishes to everyone,
Vinny
Awesome news...we will keep the fingers crossed. We were really hoping that the date would work for you guys..it has been too long! I think we are ALL in need of some time with the family!
Just wanted to let you know I'm going to bring mini ham and cheese/ turkey and cheese sandwiches for everyone with lettuce and tomato on the side.
Vinny I know you just want to compete with me for the most shy and quiet person there. <sigh> No one will even notice us and we shall have to hide in the corner....same as always.

Well, it will be a fun corner indeed.
Vinny, it will be great to see you and Jenny again, as it will be to see everyone. What a grand party it will be.
Almost as much fun as Renstock itself is watching it develop. I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you again.
So I do think I can come to Renstock this year, because its during my spring break, as long as I can hitch a ride from someone.
So that is party of 1 under the name of Britt Harvey.
I know I actually don't speak up much on here. Just creep around.
p.s. I'll think of some sort of food item to bring. I'm sure an idea will come at some random time and I'll shout it aloud, only to confuse those surrounding me.
:D

LOL.....and I thought I was the only one that did that... ;)
How much notice needs to be given if I'm comin'? I may not know until a couple days before...
No notice is actually required...it's open to any all who wish to show up, whether they're on "the list" or not. Hope you can make it ;D
We may be attending, have to find a babysitter for our boxer. We will bring a pasta dish. As it stands now we say we'll be there.
Quick question, what's the smoking policy? We're looking to bring the hookah.
Go ahead and bring the hookah, however, despite the fact that this is a "private" party, it is being held in a public facility. Hence, we must adhere to code and request that all smoking be done outside. (I hope the weather will be mild that evening...I remember well the nights of standing outside in rain/snow/freezing temps to get my evening fix.)

As long as it's the Great ones, welcome!
Almost that time and the guest list is looking quite impressive! It's wonderful to see so many being able to make the time and get together. Anne is right-don't worry if you haven't sent an RSVP...that is mainly to give us a general idea of who will be there, how much food we need, who is bringing what. Even if you find out Saturday that you are able to make it.....just show up...can't wait to see everyone!
Just a note: several people have mentioned to me that they thought the party was further north, or four hours away, etc. I am not sure where the confusion came in-but, most of you have been out to the renstock parties at my place before...the Learning Center is only 5-6 miles from my house. For most of you, I think it will be about an hour drive...maybe an hour and a half for anyone who may be coming from further out, like near the airport. (and of course, our friends from Great Lakes have a wee bit further!).
Check out the link in the main post for directions, and if you need any more info, call or email. Mumsies
Along with myself and Jesse (Angus) my sister would like to come. She worked in the kitchen at Fair and is super nice so she will get along with everyone... if not you can push her around lol.
P.S. This is Mip...
I will be present.
I was thinking of bringing some things to put out to sell ( a few sets of leather bracers and i have some terrific sets of large wooden chests a set of 2 for $20 )and proceeds will go to helping the Hogans . Would that be acceptable? If not please let me know? Also those of you that ordered a set during that event that Captain Kat was at( Mip you and jesse ordered one i think) I will bring them.
Trish and Shannon
How much for large silicone chests?
That Ferret's a caution.
For all you old "Hee Haw" fans, when I read the list of food people are bringing, I can't help but hear a crowd yell "Hey. Grandpa, what's for dinner?"
Chili and toppings, Lasagna, Cheese and pumpernickel, Spinach Dip, Meatballs and Buns, Parsley Potatoes, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Wings, Cheesecake, Stuffed Shells, Veggie Pizza and Pasta Salad. Mmm, Mmm.
Jan is making onion dip with pretzles, shrimp spread with crackers and chochlate Guinness cake. Mmm, Mmm.
Aaawwww...that was a sweet thought, Terry. Yep, I can still see him grinning from ear to ear as he replied to that question :)

Thank you... I will make sure we bring the money for them. I can also ask the other people that were at the event that ordered a pair if they would like us to pick them up.
As far as bringing along a few things to sell, hopefully to make a bit to help out the Hogans-I think it's a great idea. We are thinking about coming up with a few items for raffle...or chinese auction style...maybe something ren-related or a good bottle of whiskey...etc...that we can donate, folks buy some chances, and proceeds help the Hogans out. I know everyone is in a budget crunch, but if you have a few dollars to spare, bring them along and maybe win something to take back home while helping out at the same time. That family has been there for almost every one of us at one time or another, this is a good chance to give a little back. If you have anything you might want to donate for chinese auction-please email me or Stacey and let us know. Be seeing you soon!
How much for large silicone chests?
::sniggers:: Not sure Ferret..... you'll have to ask Hezzie for the answer to that one
Kevin wants to know if he can wear a sword? We are definitely wearing our garb. It is "Renstock." We arn't sure what the policy is for that in a public building.
Although it is a public building, we will be the only folks there-so I don't see any reason weapons are an issue-but I will let Stacey and Michael give us the final word on that, being more familiar with Crooked Creek regulations.

I just checked into it and the "sheriff of nuttingham" says weapons are no problem. ;D
Gina and Barry will attend Renstock. We will bring stuffed olives.
OYAY OYAY!!!!!! MOST URGENT INFORMATION! This news of a Chinese Auction for a most important cause has raised my spirits!!!! There are reasons beyond explanation but I will give a few [1] The Hogans are a fine Family who have helped me personally and been friends to many of us [2] I myself have been through the extreme loss they are experiencing ( thanks again to all of you who gave when I had my SECOND fire in 2006!!!) Therefore
LET IT BE KNOWN: A WEAPON FROM HIS MAJESTY SIR WULF, KING CHARMING'S PERSONAL COLLECTION WILL BE AUCTIONED TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER ON THE DAY OF THE WINTER RENSTOCK TO BENEFIT THIS FINE HOGAN FAMILY...
While I too am suffering in this time of loss, it is best to help our family heal and this is a way we can all help them. The highest bidder will take home a treasured piece of steel.
With the loss of my darling husband and because of my declining health, I had not planned to attend this event...yet with these new developments it seems most appropriate for all of us to try harder to get there, so that we may embrace and meet again. These times are difficult for many. For the Hogans, right now it is especially hard. Do your best to come out and join together, and I will try as well. I have encouraged my dear friend Lady K to gather herself together and come along so that we might support one another.
If you would like to place a bid on the weapon unseen, you should contact mumsies at bonniecousins@gmail.com without delay. I think she will accept your information on that behalf if you can not be there!

My turn. I too want to do something to help the Hogans so Laurie and I have decided to make and sell some of the embroidered Renn belch shirts. They will be available in several sizes and different colors. Many of you may have seen them at the Christmas party or on one of our lovely Rennies at the Harp and Fiddle or at the Faire. The shirt will cost $15 and all of it will be donated to help the Hogans. If you need a special size just drop me an email and I will see if I have it or can make one up before Saturday.

Pardon me, ma'am, but I think your Freudian slip is showing. *giggle*
Regarding auctions for the Hogan fund.
We will be setting up a Chinese auction table. Anyone wishing to donate an item to be included, please email me as soon as possible to add it to the list. For a Chinese auction, each item will be placed on the table for folks to take a look. There will be a bag to place your tickets in, with the item listed on it. You may purchase tickets 3 for $1.00 or 25 for $5.00. Write your name on the ticket, place the ticket in the bag. Enter as many times as you would like, and for as many of the items as you would like. We will draw a ticket from the bag, if your name is on the ticket, the item is yours. We have a few items donated so far. If you would like to donate, email me. Although any item is appreciated, something with the Ren-theme in mind would be especially nice. We will draw the names at 8:00, hoping to give everyone a chance to get to the party, get their tickets, but also have it finished for folks who may not be able to stay til the wee hours.
As far as the auction for the weapon that Kharla has graciously donated, things will need to be handled differently. This is a priceless item, given from the heart, and it will be auctioned separately. Please email me for more information if you are interested in bidding. In order to allow people who would like this chance but cannot attend the party-I will take bids by email until 12:00 on Saturday. Email me for further information.
Information on the sword:Blade is quality steel of 38" length, with brass hilt, leather sheath included. Opening bid is $50.00.
You can see photos at this link:http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a334/mumsies/sword%20of%20sir%20wulf/
If you cannot attend the party, and do not wish to bid on the sword, but you would like to make a donation to the Hogan family, please contact me by email and we can make arrangements.
This is what makes our Renfamily so special-everyone reaching out to each other, helping each other, and being there for each other, no matter what the circumstances are in our own lives, we are still looking out for our families!
See you all on Saturday-it is looking to be quite the get together! It is wonderful to see how many people are on the guest list, and knowing how much it means for us all to spend some time together!
I do believe there will be a CASE OF GUINNESS up for grabs in the chinese auction ;D
I am amazed by the response we are seeing-new and familiar faces-everyone wanting to share time together-the efforts being made to help our friends in need...it even looks like weather may cooperate with us. (rain is much better than snow!).
With so many people planning to be there-I just thought we had better double check on overnight arrangements. I think there is plenty of room, just want to make sure, and be sure that people who "need" the bunks, because they are not bringing their own mattress, etc. will all have a space.
Can everyone who is planning to stay over send me a quick email, letting me know if you are planning a bunk, bringing mattress for floor space...etc.
Thanks! bonniecousins@gmail.com

Lady K has graciously agreed to accompany me so we will venture out together and see you all there!! BTW...the sword is doing well already...it will be an honor to hand it over on the month marking of his passing.
Laurie, get that gun ready girl...there will be photo opps everywhere! (Try not to get my teary eye side!)
We are trying to come up with a few fun but easy activities for the youngsters...maybe some bingo, word searches, mazes, coloring pages...with the ren-theme in mind. If you are bringing your children, please email me how many and ages so we have enough supplies. thanks!
OK, OK, I guess I screwed up...lol. That should read Renn belch shirts....but you should already know that Anne. ;)
Just to let you guys know, Ar Eigean Gael just released our first CD, Good Drinking Weather. We'll have it available for purchase at renstock with a portion of the proceeds going to the fund for the Hogans.
Just a note to all: we are getting some great donations from folks for the chinese auction-thanks to all of you so far! Instead of listing things here..I thought it would be more fun to let it be a surprise when you get there..hope you don't mind!

I think that God is with us on planning the weekend. With this being such a cold winter and all the troubles that have been going around He realized we all need a time of happiness and togetherness. Thank -you Mumsie for planing this and to all who are helping. We've been getting depressed lately and this has picked us up.
the thanks does not go to me, but to all of those who continue to have an interest in attending, offer their help, bring in the supplies, the music, the friendships....without all of you...there would be no renstock....so, in case i forget to say it later...thank you to all of you! This looks to be a very special night!
Anne...it's not me...really! I made sure I typed it correctly but I guess there's filters which changed it. It is Renn B+tch! LOL
ALRIGHT! Lady K, our Dear Katrina, is going to come out of the winter doldrums (she has been the one to take me for cremation arrangements, then my hospital procedure...all of that! so this first gathering it seems she should be beside me too!) There are some important hugs and while tears of joy and sorrow may be shed...we will gather together again and that in itself is a blessing! Now...about the weather...KHRONEY is working on it!

Oooohhhh...I see. It makes sense now. I discovered, quite by accident, that if one types the word weed puller in this forum - even in a
renmail - a filter on the site changes it to "weed puller." LOL!
Okay gang-getting down the the wire now...hope we have covered all the details. If anyone needs more specific directions, please call my cell or send me an email. We will have signs just off of the main road (route 66) when you get closer.
If you haven't sent an RSVP-you are still very welcome...and hope you can make it.
Don't forget-BYOB and, please, if you don't have a designated driver, consider staying the night...there is still plenty of room.
If you are staying the night, make sure to bring bedclothes for the bunks...
Please remember the $5 per person donation....and bring the wallets...we have gotten lots of great donations for the chinese auction!
Food-never have to worry about that with this gang...looks like that is handled!
Any questions or problems...please call or email me....see you soon! Mumsies

LOL! That's what I wondered, too.
I happened to be discussing the merits of low-rise jeans with a friend via email. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the filters changed my statement to read, "...any woman's weed puller looks hot in low rise jeans..." :o Wow! ::)

I always start off with shoes on my feet. How long they stay there is anybodies guess ;)
it is no longer tentative... i will be there...
I am going to bring veggies...
Wings are cooking now. Are there facilities (like an oven) there to reheat stuff, or should I bring a slow-cooker type thing?
What a fun night with so many friends! SO much to catch up on in so little time. The food was great and plentiful. And it was so nice to see so many kids there. My son had a ball running around playing all night. I wish I could have stayed longer but my meds were wearing off and my neck pain was returning with a vengence. I'm sorry I missed Terry's song about Dirk.
Thanks to Bonnie and Stacy for organizing such a great event.
FANTASTIC event. We all had such a great time. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of us partying!
;D I agree excellent time had by me and my husband as well! We felt so very welcomed by all
Cant wait to see you all at fair! Thanks for allowing us to take part
I had a great time too! It was awesome to see everyone again!
Twas a blast! I too cannot wait to see pictures. (or maybe not... depends on how incriminating they are :) )
Holy Ravioli that was some night. I was very nervous to go but THANK YOU EVERYONE, it was difficult, but I did it! On behalf of the Hogans - Joe and Dave as well as Mother Hogan (and Father who we never get to see!) Sister Lynn and our sweet little Angel...I am sure they are as moved by the incredible support from all of you as I am, and so I offer a huge heartfelt THANK YOU. My husband was clearly loved by many many people. Several said they did not realize it was him who passed away until they saw the memorial photos. Many spoke of his influence or the impression he made on them, thank you for helping me deal with this very difficult time, and thank you for keeping his memory alive, as I know we all will. This season as we enter that Castle Gate...Sir Wulf King Charming and Queen Mum will be together in the procession with us. (she referred to him as Doctor Yummy!). Far too many special people worked hard to make that night so special for me to list here. Terry, I can't wait to hear that song again more closely. Mumsies and Annie girl - you rocked working together - and to each of you...for sharing and caring...I hope you can imagine how very much all of this means to me, and I'm sure to the Hogans as well. SEE YOU AT FAIRE. (PS: you don't think that ring was the ONLY thing he thought of do you?!)

Holy Ravioli that was some night.
I cant stop laughing im crying. Of all people you writing that. LOL
OK now that i got myself all pulled together. There was so much stuff I was apart of that night. What little of it i slept. Lets see the place was just off the hook. I ended up pretending having a baby. Played to do you want to buy a duck. bounced around like a ball from room to room outside inside. Played a board game with New people and for once I was the out cast. Then ended up looking for April witch we were worried about. Cause we thought she was throwing up in the bathroom but it was just the guys urinal running. So look out side for her. End up sleeping at 5am got back up at 8 then 10 Then had a therapy session on the couch with everyone with was event full. I don't remember everything that we talked about. I think danny got in on her phone so now I'm waiting for it to be on you tube witch would be some funny shiner bock.
I am so sorry if you were looking for me. Someone put me in bed... then when I woke up at 5ish, I had to leave because I was meeting friends for breakfast at 7... I didn't realize there was a search party out looking for me...
I'm sorry if I had you all worrying about me...
April, you seem to get misplaced a lot. I remember we were looking for you at the Maryland Ren-fest. We need to put a bell on you like a cat!
I did have bells on at Renstock... ;-)
That was, indeed, a fantastic night! I'm glad the weather was kind to us and so many folks were able to come out and enjoy time spent together. The date for 2010 has been confirmed (Feb. 27), and we are working on getting a back-up date in case of inclement weather.
Several items were left behind at the ELC. If you forgot anything when you left, please renmail/email me and I'll see if what I have here belongs to you.
Until we gather again, be well.
Anne
