Title: My new Gauntlets
Post by: Lord Clisto of York on February 17, 2009, 11:25:26 PM
Hail all,

Just got my new gaunlets I had Excalibur Leather custom design for me. They came out AWSOME!!! Ken did a fantastic job as always. Here are a few pics. I just can't say enough about Kens work. He even added a few studs on the fingers just as an added bonus for the look.

ya know, one of my co-workers said the same thing when I showed him here tonight at work. He said I should put them on and go out and pull weeds so all the neighbors can see and get jealous. LOL. I said you are nuts!!!

Very, very nice! The work is amazing, and the tooling for the Lion Rampant is wonderfully intricate!

Did you call your co-worker the Heretic he obviously is, suggesting such foul usage of something so obviously meant for ceremonial review, or perhaps Championship of Honor...?!?

He is a naive and I did tell him so. Then, on the other hand, I have been excited about them all day so I really didn't care what he thought. LOL..

Yes, you can sniff the new leather. I already did first thing. LOL.. Thanks to everyone as well. I can't wait to wear them this year. The leather is softer too.

Just as long as there is still some new leather smell for me. Nothing like it... Now I have to see what else I can have done before my season starts.

Those are absolutely beautiful!  Are they custom made only in teh decoration, or are they custom fit as well?

Thanks Celtic lady and Jcbanner. They are custom just in the decorations on them JC. The gauntlets themselves from Kens tend to fit well depending on what size you are so they do not to be custom fit. I have had his for many years and they wear well. But these are also made differently by his own design. Especially the rolled tops instead of the normal straight cut.

Well good leather does have a wonderful scent. I think I'm going to have to run down to the local tack shop and sniff the saddles and bridles now.

Ok you do that and I want copies...lol. Speaking of copies do you still have pictures from last year's Des Moines faire? You took a couple of pics of me and Sir Morgan standing outside of the Scots Dragon and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sending me a copy. Please.... (batting eyelashes) :D .

The lion shield is very intricately done!  No sloppiness there!
