Title: Countdown to NCRF
Post by: Hibernian on February 26, 2009, 11:18:29 AM
Just a wee bit longer than a month and the gates will open on NCRF!

Brother Timothy will be visiting during that first Saturday in April. Anyone else?

Did anyone make the clean up day for the new grounds? Comments, rumors, suggestions or hints on how things look?

there were a few of us that made the clean up day at the new site, there was a list perpared for us of things that needed to be done and we finished that list......

There was not really all that much more that we could do without mowers or brush hogs.   So maybe next time.

The site is really beautiful, and will make a great faire someday, if they can get by the objections of the locals.

I will not be attending the faire at NCRF, but will see many of you either Friday nite or Saturday nite at the gatherings scheduled at Mac's Tavern or the Hibernian Pub.

Hello All,   :D

We are happy to say that we will be there this year.  (Art of Ed Beard Jr./Fantasy Art) We had our tent there last year outside and loved the people that we met - even in the rain and cold - what great cast members, staff and playtrons we met!

Our website had been saying we were unable to attend due to schedule conflicts but we have someone representing Ed's stuff in Canada at a show there so that Ed could be in NC!

Look forward to seeing everyone again, Ed has lots of new cool stuff for his collectors and has newly begun working with a company that makes museum replica Giclees (prints on actual canvas with a lifetime guarantee).  Ed also paints something unique on each Giclee actually making it a one-of-a-kind!  So, NC will be one of the debut places for these unique pieces.

Hope to see you there!  We will be outside once more braving the elements!

Thanks,
Lady Kelly

Good news indeed to hear that NCRF is definitely a go!  I have already begun manifesting beautiful spring NC weather for both weekends!

Our whole family (the twins first faire) and adventuring party of friends will be attending on Sunday the 29th.  We'll be back for more the following Saturday 4/4 without the kids....

Looking forward to kicking off what I know will be a fun faire season!

Saturday - 40% chance of rain during the day, 60% in the evening. Sunday - 20% during the day, 10% in the evening. It seems it always rains at NCRF. It always does at some point. I'll cross my fingers and hope that it doesn't rain too much, just enough to keep it cool. 'Tis better than the sweltering heat I usually encounter at GARF! I'm very much looking forward  to NCRF...two days away! Of course Lord Caleb of Guilford shall be there!

Sad to say I will not be able to attend NCRF this year.  :'(

The boyo, the tallest Leapus of the Clan, is deep into his Eagle Project for Scouts and we need the weekends to finish things up. Faire will come again next year but the opportunity to be an Eagle Scout comes once in a lifetime.

So raise a pint for the good friar and look for me at the Loch Norman Highland Games after Easter and at TNRF the first weekend of May.

When you're inside the pub (beer tent!) it doesn't matter anyway! Stay dry, get sauced, and listen to drinkin' and sea-farin' songs! That reminds me, one of the entertainers at the pub is Drinkin' M'Crack!

I look forward to hearing initial reports of what the new grounds are like!  Especially after a good soaking rain!

Nailin....I couldn't agree with you more.  ;D ;D NCRF's new location is lovely....lots of space, beautiful huge trees, friendly folks everywhere.  The parking lot was soft and muddy but staff were very helpful to direct cars to the driest spots.  Love the overall feel and I totally look forward to watching how the location continues to unfold over time.  My only regret is that I didn't think to use sunscreen on myself or the kids.....we all went home with some funny "tan lines".   ;) :D

Looking forward to a return visit next weekend!

I am SOOO keyed up about this Saturday.  My son and I will be attending (My Lady will be in beautiful Charleston with her sister who is in the annual 5K 'bridge run') and we BOTH can hardly contain ourselves.

I hope that I'll see plenty of you all there as this will be my first trip to NCRF.  I gather that with the new location and all, there is no actual set meeting place for RFers, so I'll keep an eye out for familiar faces and RF pins.

We plan to show up way early in hopes of (1) catching the opening show and (2) catching up with any of you guys that might recognize me (since I've got the worst memory in recorded history...well, I think I have the worst...I don't know, I just can't remember).

See you there!
Raibeart O'Shea

(after much research, it looks like the Gaelic pronunciation of my 'name' would be "Rye-Bursht"...but at my first encounter with the Lady Mikayla, she pronounced it "Ray-Bear" and that's stuck with my friends and family...Holler at me, if you see me...I'll be looking for friends).

Sir Raibeart OShea

Instead of a gate show this year we are starting the storyline at 10:30 inside the faire but outside of the building so arrive early and make your way to just outside the building by 10:30 to see our cast perform for you.

I am part of the Musician Royale and look forward to entertaining you this weekend.
