Title: Port Washington Pirate Fest
Post by: SleepyArcher on February 28, 2009, 02:24:29 AM
Is anyone planning on going? Jenn has to check as she thinks her mom may have some shin dig that weekend. But I missed last year and want to go this year and maybe with a stroke of luck Jenn will let me go if I take Matt with me or something. Anyways looking at interests to see for carpooling. Its the first weekend of June and I have to say by my own opinion that I like this better than Twig.

Yes, it has coincided with Siouxland every year.....first weekend of June.  Still hoping to go, though.  Will probably be my only chance to do any traveling this year.

Let me rephrase that Goody. I meant to say that I liked Port Washington than I did Twig. Twig was fun but it's a very small faire and you can get through everything in the first half of the day. I don't mind spending the whole day to be with friends but it's not a faire I would ever do two days again. Much more to do around Duluth. Thats just my opinion. I know Port Washington is the weekend before Twig and I can't do both. I went to Twig last year because I couldn't make PW. PW is really fun al beit very small as well but you are never going to get to be around that many pirates in one place around these parts as there is on that weekend and I like being a pirate...Arrrrrgh!

I'm thinking something, but I'm not gonna say it. Nope not out loud, John must use his indoor voice. Yes be good John, or you're gonna get hurt.

I'm doing Port Washington this year.  Port Washington is a suburb north of Milwaukee (think Maple Grove to Minneapolis).  I am from Milwaukee.  It is about a 5 and 1/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities.  Highway the entire trip.

Nah it was a bust. Lots rain/drizzle. Kids didnt like it. I did see Jib, he looked fantastic. We spent a lot time swimming at the hotel. I think weather and the economy played a huge part. I think there was about half the people that I saw the last time I went. I dont think I will be going to that one again.

that's too bad. kinda sounds like my trip to Siouxland but the after party and Dregs make it a worthwhile trip.

I don't think I will be going back to that one. Probably going to Twig as it's closer and everyone goes to that one. I may go to Siouxland though will have to see.

I think Siouxland is smaller than Twig. Not sure if you'd like it. It'd be about a 4 hr for you but if you bring kids, their childrens area is good. I enjoy the overall experience of goin there.

Is it still at the fairgrounds? I think we went when they moved over there.
