OH Hootie Hoo to you....dearest Scotsman...not to fret...Pittsburgh will rally and surely GLMF opening weekend has become our traditional tailgate for starting our season! I feel sure Scarlett, Morwyn, Ducour, Syrac, Mumsies, Lady K and I will make it ~ at LEAST! They are all busy planning our big Ren Stock for this weekend ... then I'm sure they will speak up and pester you about things like what kilt will you wear and what we will serve for breakfast....shall we meet for dinner the evening before again? That was so fun!

Yeah, we need to start thinking about putting something together ... after that drive I am going to need a beer! Anyone got any ideas ... the winery last year was nice, but they did not serve beer ... beer is an important part of any celebration!
Hey Scotsman and all of you mad rennies. I'm booked to perform for the opening weekend at GLMF and maybe some others if Scott can work me in. I'll be rolling in on Friday to get the camp site settled so please let me know about any Friday night arrangements. I'll probably miss the tailgate because of morning meetings and setting up for the day so Friday may be my only time to party.
As Charity mentioned, our Renstock was last weekend and it was truly an amazing day. Several people from GLMF were there as well and we enjoyed sharing the festivities with them. It was a much needed gathering of lovely people.
Can't wait until we party together again.

I am a Pittsburgh playtron who loves Avaloch! Hope to be there for the invasion (13th century-in which people think I'm a terrorist because of the veil and dark complexion...really! I scared folks in a 7-11 once) and my birthday weekend (Italian Pirate Mama-actually in period I'd probably be Pirate Grandmama). I'd like to work being mostly deaf into my persona more. I have an "earhorn" but when people talk to me--you need to yell into it! Because I really am deaf. (I wear hearing aids.) I love to interact but it's hard when you can't hear.
Although I am stuck in Vegas working. I am doing my best to work my schedule to make it.
So I would say count on the Captain sailing into port that weekend with guest in tow.
With that being said...we will need lots of Guiness.

Raine and my husband Thorne, and at least one friend. If the invite for camping is still open with Bunnie and Hank we plan to arrive on Friday evening and spend the weekend. We have attended Great Lakes for years, but because of tending the young ones haven't had a chance to get to know too many of you all. I love that every time I manage to check the forum you guys are up to scheming with me! Still taking each day as it comes but This opening weekend is something I haven't missed in years and sure aint about to start now! I just love how every years opening at Great Lakes get Larger and Larger....Less then 80 days now.
I'm so excited. I can't wait. This will be our first Tailgate. I managed to fenangle it so our two oldest kids will be away for camp and only have to get someone to keep the youngest. We will be camping and spending the whole weekend. Any suggestions on what to bring to the Tailgate?

Scotsman, the tavern you mentioned last year, The Chop House, should be open this time. It's not a holiday this year.

That is just it, my good Sir...after the first, oh...1,500 years or so you lose count...so it would seem that Faire has indeed snuck up on me, but not in the same manner as a near by immortal. Indeed..."Mundania" has had a frightful grip upon me...the opening you mentioned, consumed many, many months of time and OT (would that I could be paid for it!) I believe last week (the week before the opening) I logged in 64 hours and then since Dwyn had to work the opening (Security Operations you know)...I foolishly volunteered to work as well...and that was from 4PM to 2AM. Suffice it to say I know remember why I retired from the Police Department for as the evening wore on, and the music got louder and the entry tickets cheaper....the pre-soused college students began to arrive and on more than one occasion the Women's Restroom was festooned in an array of Technicolor...well...I don't think I really need to expound... ::)
All in all, it was a success and compliments to the new addition we many and well received...it's nice to have your work appreciated and my crew totally ROCKS in dedication and professionalism...and now, I look forward to fellowship and good times with my Ren. Family. ;)
