Hi
I am wondering if anyone here is knowledgeable on the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
I am having some issues that I am fighting a credit company on- they pull a bait and switch on me on a card offer and now are trying to get all kinds of interest fees out of me.
I was hoping someone here might have some knowledge and be able to point me in the right direction as to what exact parts of the CCPA I need to look into.
thanks
NO clue personally. Sorry for the trouble they are causing you. Pay it off, cancel it and leave them in the dust...when you can.
Start with your states Attorney General...If it is a true "bait and switch" there are legal penalties. If it's a big company I'm afraid your likely to have to pay the price. Your state AG is a good place to start for consumer issues, one small benefit of your tax dollar, take advantage of it!
I'd recommend to contact the credit bureaus directly. They may be able to help you dispute more directly with the company, and hopefully tell you whether what the company did is legal or not.
