Hello all,
I beseach thee all to assist me in identifying the fine characters I've photograhed at Tampa's Bay Area Renaissance Festival this year. I took about 600 photos, about 300 of which are online at my site. If you are any of the persons I have on my site, or know a little of the person depicted, even if only the charcter portrayed, I would greatly appreciate your contacting me with a bit about yourself and the character so that I may add to the caption. Email: landolutz@aol.com or dano@tampapix.com. You can see the photos at www.tampapix.com/BARF1.htm
The legend becomes you!
A most wonderous and professional looking site.
Thank you for including me in it! How would you like us to identify some more of the people for you? Is email the best, or would you like us to post here?
Ah, Squire Mickey!
Thanks so much for the prompt reply, your compliment and your offer to help. Email is easiest for me, but for the benefit of members here, a post is good too. So I'm torn in half. If not too much trouble, could you (and others) do both? If you prefer only one method, post here. I think replies will notify me by email anyway.
Muchas Garcias,
Dan-O
Page 11, in the green bodice with black hat with green feathers, holding a red mug, is Exavieor, from this forum. I only know her faire name, not her real name!
Thanks WW, for the correction. I had a brain freeze.
Lady Renee,
Thanks so much for your help. I shall attempt to contact her regarding her character. She appears to be a pirate, aye? Perhaps a "Buccanette". heh heh.

Only if she's an Ette first. But I don't think she is. :)
Here are a few for you, Lady Renee...and I'm working on more (remembering full cast names!)...
Page 3...Men In Tights section...3rd row of random shots, in red tunic....Sir Vincent Roswell, Knight of the Garter, 2nd in Command of Royal Guard
Page 4....the evil grey puppet is "NIMH"
Page 7....row 1, first shot...Baron Blackheath
Page 7....row 3....Queen Katherine Parr and her brother (me), Sir William Parr, KG, Marquess of Northampton, Captain of the Royal Guard
Page 8....row 11/1...Douglas CanBury, Gravedigger
Page 8....row 11/3...Cosmo, Storyteller Extrodinaire
Page 8....row 15/1...Lord Angantar
Page 8....row 15/2...Hazel, of the Muckhill Mummers
Hope that helps some!
What a fun project. :) It's so cool to see the full character names and back stories of the court and of so many I see about but never got to really know. Very cool.
Here's a little more help for you:
Page one between Seymore and the Deputy Sheriff is (I think !) Kathryn (Fae) Weldon.
Page eleven row twelve just below Exavieor is Visconte Vincentes.
They are both on the boards here and can be contacted regarding how they'd like best to be titled.
Oh wow, that is quite a site! I'm very, very impressed, that is more intensive than any I've ever seen even done by a faire itself. I'm totally going to be sharing the link with the folks back at my home faire in CO and show off how cool BARF and it's patrons are.
-Cristine aka Lady Norrington
PS. The link to Uncle James' wiki page was a very nice touch! Teehee! (I'm such a sad pathetic fangirl.)

You caught me. :) As far as that shot, I was Lady Kathryn de Faye.
I thought I recognised that dimple. :)
Dan-O...
My apologies for "misnaming" you as Lady Renee :o when I replied earlier - wasn't awake yet 8)! Also sent you an email with some idents. And may I add...WONDERFUL site!
Page 3 - daVinci Brothers is mislabeled. Those two are actually Bunnies in Peril, performing on the Cottage Stage.
I am thrilled to come home this evening and find so many responses to my request for assistance. My inbox email was filled with your notices. Thank you all so much, you have all been most helpful. I look forward to updating my site tonight. I'll probably be up past midnight. Individually:
Madge Estes: YIKES! I really blew that one, and I really did it up as the daVinci Brothers last night, with bio, etc. Thanks for pointing out Bunnies in Peril. I just removed the DaVinci info from the site. Must have been the mead and hot sun that got me.
Ambios: No problem, as you can see above, I did some serious misnaming on the site. You have been most helpful indeed. You provided my MOST wanted caption of all photos on the site...the grey "thing" with the stitches on his face! NIMH, the evil gray puppet. Thanks for the complement on the site.
Anna Iram: Glad you enjoyed the "educational" aspect of the site. I'm a huge history fan and a huge fan of history. Ha! Before I started the BARF pages, I know nothing of the kings and queens of the European dynasties. After chatting with the ladies of the Queens court did I delve into the research and learned much.
pktaxwench aka Lady Norrington Ha! The link to the Commodore was a humorous afterthought. I too am a "Pirates" fan. Wiki wiki, snip snip. Savvy? Thanks for your input and enjoyed chatting with you at the Fest. (I was the guy with the notepad, fumbling through my printed thumbnail photos.)
Lady Renee: Thanks for the info, I found a bit about Exavieor at another forum under the topic "Have you met..?"
And thank you all who emailed me directly with info. I received 10 emails! I'm pretty much done putting pics on the site, unless I can salvage some of my approx 300 reject shots that came out poorly due to my unreliable camera. I'm tempted to go back to the BARF a third time for retakes of the rejects.
Dan-O
Thank you for the wonderful pics of my Jurgen and the rest of the boys (and for the properly placed umlaut on his name!) ;)
You should definitely come back for a third time!
Also, the first pic in the same row as me is gravedigger Doug Canbury (aka David Waterman), his websiite is http://www.myspace.com/voiceoveraudio (http://www.myspace.com/voiceoveraudio)
Page two, girl in the barbarian outfit is The Golden Goddess, Freya. Her webpage is http://www.myspace.com/mach1hottie (http://www.myspace.com/mach1hottie)
Page 3, tights com, same row as Sir Vincent Roswell , the last is Kilt Boy (aka Jacob Sforza). His web page is http://www.myspace.com/straightugly (http://www.myspace.com/straightugly)
Page 9, 3rd row from bottom, middle picture (girl in red and black) Pyrate Pixie (aka Kiki Hernandez) http://www.myspace.com/pyrate_pixie (http://www.myspace.com/pyrate_pixie)
A correction:
Maud Parr Lane was the cousin of the Queen. Her aunt (Catherine's mother) was Maud Green Parr. Maud Parr Lane was brought to court, along with her children, after the death of her husband. One of her sons became the first governor of Roanoke. (etc., etc., etc....)
Page 2, the pirate gathering near the end, the girl pirate (she-bucaneer?) is Gwendolyn Drake (aka Lisa) her site ishttp://www.myspace.com/lisa_pixie (http://www.myspace.com/lisa_pixie) She is also in the chess match pics on page 7
Thank you both for the additional info. I fell behind last night in updating the captions, still working on them! Mickey, I really appreciate your providing the links also. You've saved me plenty of Google time. I had planned to call the barbarian lady "Foxy Lady" if I didn't get any help on her. It looks like that's a FOX on her head! Ditto for the red and black pirate girl. I was going to call her "Buccanette"!
Lady Maud, I'm not sure where to apply your correction. Do you refer to page 7 the photo of William Parr with his sister the Queen at the chess match? I have: "Lord Northampton (William Parr) is a younger brother (by a year) to Her Most Gracious Majesty Catherine Parr, and older brother of Lady Anne Parr Herbert (Lady in Waiting). Also cousin to Lady Maud Lane (Lady in Waiting) and Brother-in-Law to Henry VIII."
If Lady Maud Parr Lane was cousin to the queen, wouldn't that make her a cousin to the queen's brother, William, as well? Thanks.
Actually Nimh is a woman, and quite lovely out of make-up!

Which is an even greater testament to her skill in makeup and performance!
Dan,
Many thanks for the new photo you took on Saturday and added to the Royal Court page!
May I suggest a change to the caption you now have posted on PAGE 7 (the chessmatch picture you have of myself and Queen Katherine)? So that I might keep my head ::), could I suggest that the caption be changed to "Queen Katherine Parr, and her brother Sir William Parr" to put proper emphasis on her much higher station in life? ;) Grammercy!!!!!
I got bumped from page 1 to page 7 :-[
Wow!
Huzzah to that Herculean effort! Ne'er wouldst I have dared tackle the task of bringing all the incredible characters that are BARF onto one site and you seem to have accomplished it most handily!
I love the look of the site and the way you can link to personal pages, etc. It's brilliant!
I have one for you!
Page 7, 4th row down, the kilted warrior in the chess match would be Malcom MacDurron - a.k.a. Malcom Smash - website located at http://www.myspace.com/adrich13 .
