Good day! My name is Emerald Rogue. I am a wee bit new to the forum side of life, but I have gone to the Festival every week but the first this year (and once a year for two years before this) and wanted to say hello! In a way, introduce myself.
I'm also a wee bit confused as to who is who half of the time, but I think I'll figure that out as I start reading posts more.
I will be attending the final weekend this Saturday (unfortunately not this sunday...) and I'm greatly saddened by it being so close to the end...perhaps there are other events that cater to the Ren Fest freak like myself that I am unaware of throughout the year?
Well, I guess that's about as much of an intro I can think to do...
Toodles!
Welcome!
Wish you would have joined the forums earlier in the year. Most everyone has a fairly updated userpic. Feel free to say hello if you see anyone! We're all pretty friendly (most of the tim) and don't bite (unless you ask nicely, hehe).
Kate
Next thing I am aware of is LeVique Pirate Days at John's Pass in June.
I will look into this Pirate Day, your majesty, and see if my friend Davens (David, who you met recently (we're working on a character for him)) will escort me.
And Kate, I do wish I had found this all before as well, however, I just now, this week, recieved a break from the real world havocs and the weekend getaways that I am finally able to look everything on Renaissance Festivals up! I do actually plan on checking out who attends BARF and see if I can see anyone...
Hi Emerald Rogue. We've a faire directory ( link found at the top of the page) with links to all the faire events across the country. You'll find most of us at all the local events and many of the farther ones as we have invasions throughout the year.
Here's the Florida page:
http://www.renaissancefestival.com/festivals/list.php?state=florida
As we move on to other faires in the area you'll see conversations cropping up here and in the smaller faire forums:

Welcome to the forums. :)

Welcome, Emerald! As to finding other RFr's at BARF, here's a quick start....find Madge Estes roaming the grounds and you'll most always find both myself and Lady Maud in attendance to her
Welcome to the forums Emerald!
Be sure to ye hail me should ye be a seein' me round the lanes of Fiddlesworth this weekend. You will know me from me picture, but will be a sportin' me new coat (had a fair bit o'luck on me latest voyage and scored a rich haul!)

Lol, can't wait to see you this weekend!
I'll be wandering and squandering as well.......follow the racket, and check the pubs...
BTW, welcome aboard! And don't think for a moment the fun, madness, garb disorders and hatred of sobriety ends
Sunday when the cannon goes off!! RenFaire has gone viral down here....See a local rennie for more details....
Leinad and I will be in the shire on Saturday, Emerald Rogue. We tend to wander, sometimes together, sometimes separately. Please introduce yourself if you see us. Stop by Things from Rings, across from the Flogger Brothers, to sign Ladyfair's memory book. She usually knows who's about the place.
Tessa and I miss you guys! We hope you have a great time and we are planning on seeing you next season.
Look for me on Sunday! It will be difficult to find me, I AM THE QUIET ONE AT FAIR!
I shall be there as well.
Look for us IN THE PARKING LOT in the wee early hours before Faire

Anything with single digits is wee to me.
You weren't there, though... we saw you inside afterwards!
'twas quite a pleasure meetin' ye, though
I really wish I could be there for the last weekend! Hope everyone has a grand time, may we meet again next year!
Lifting a pint in honor of a great season, hopefully I'll get to share more than one day of it with you all next year!
Wishing you all a most wonderous day today! ;D
I hope everyone has a great time today . . . please post some more pictures for those of us who couldn't make it. :)
I too hope everyone had a great last day ( with all the surprises planed, I can only guess at the amount of fun had! ) ;D
Really wish I could have been there with you all, but Saturday took more out of me than I thought... :(
...still had the best birthday EVER, thanks to you all!
Till we see one another again...HUZZAH! ;D
OK, now we start the off-season gatherings!
LOL!
The fun ne'er ends down here...
even though our wondrous 2009 season, best I have ever seen... has come to its close.

I tried to have Davens drive quicker...however we were stuck in our own town for a few errands longer than wanted...
And yes! 'Twas a pleasure meetin' ya'll! Everyone was fantastic!!
Alas, Emerald, the afternoon's duties did not allow for a real conversation, but at least I was able to say hello! ??? :)
Yes! Twas nice to put actual, living, vocal faces with people's names other than just a still picture...they're not as much fun...
Aye... that is step one... putting those faces with those names and getting to know everyone.
Step two is even more fun...
just wait until you start hearing people referred to by their mundane names... and you once again feel like you have no idea who they're talking about.
I STILL get turned around by the mundane names...
maybe I should just call everyone... 'Steve'
;D
Why does it have to be Steve??? Why not Bryan.
And I think most of the ladies would be offended if you called them Steve.
It was a great festival. As always...thanks to all who make it special. (You know who you are!!!)
Can't believe it's over... Faire withdrawal will set in soon...
John Leveque here we come... I think that's the next thing down here.
Might get up to GARF for the Memorial Day invasion.
Nice thing about faire... you always seem to find people you know where ever you go.
Until then... see you in the lanes. ;D
M'Crack weekend at GARF is the 18th of this month.
Memorial Day will be another big invasion.
If I see you at neither, see you at JLD!!!

LOL! Whatever, it wouldn't offend me in the least Count. I have so many names I go by anyway, what's one more? <BG> I am "Minnie" at the office, "Button Pusher" by friends (that one was earned not cause I tick people off, but because I tend to break things), "Mmketeer" here (just cause that's my AOL screen name and that's what I used to join the forum), and "Larissa" is my dancing stage name. Oh yeah and I answer to hey blondie too. LOL! ;)
actually, I should explain the reference...
here in the Florida Fairemily... the local group...
there are a lot of Steves
it just kinda made me chuckle as I found out how many Steves we have.
There are NO FEWER than four Steves in the group... so calling someone "Steve" around here gives you a decent chance of being right.
