Title: Pre-Cannon Meet and greet
Post by: DonaCatalina on April 02, 2009, 08:30:28 AM
Row 12
FOF parking
8:00ish am
Even if you don't have a FOF pass you can WALK over and socialize.
The more the merrier I usually say.

What time do you all normally start gathering.  I have to be there early to do sound checks, set up the stage and the like so Ann Marie and the kids were planning on going to meet up with you all the socialize.  Just wondering when they should head over there.

I try to be in place between 08:30 an 09:00. Life is just easier if you get there a little early. It really makes the difference at the end of the day.

Question for all you FoF pros...
This is our first year to get the passes, we don't have a parking tag yet
Haven't gotten any letter about it yet
How do they know we are allowed to park in there?

*does it require rum?*

Hey Teach,

You don't get a parking pass, you just show your Friends of Faire pass when you drive up to the parking guys and they let you in the Friends of Faire parking :)

*Thinking Hard*

I may sneak over for a minute to say hi.
Saturday is going to be a bit nutsy, so I cannot be certain if I can make it out there.
But, I will attempt.

This is second year we haven't gotten the FoF pass, last year 'cause we only made it to faire once - damn that price increase!

I love the pre-cannon meet & greets, but as to whether we'll arrive in time on opening day, I don't know. Tis much easier when finances permit staying overnight. As it is, we'll be getting up and driving in on Sat. morning. It takes us almost 2 1/2 hours to get there.

Aye, Same as Mac for us!

If Spikey and I get too crazy and inhibited the night before, an early rise would be unlikely.

I'll try and be a good wench and not partake of too much rum and loki..but no promises  ;)

Since I'll have my parents (2nd time to Faire) and kids in tow, we probably won't get there until close to 9:30.  You never know which park row they'll put you on, and I don't want to make them walk extra, so we'll probably just head on up to the pre-cannon show  :-\

I'll definitely stop by the post-parade meet 'n' greet on Sunday, though  :)

I had left for Scarby Sat morning and forgot which aisle the meet-n-greet was on.  No worries for Sat anyway, we were running late and missed opening canon by about 20 min.  Sunday we got there early enough but stayed at our car and enjoyed our own little preparty.  Umm yeah, so if any of you saw a girl passed out by the flower pots during the opening show Sunday- yup that would have been me...as I apparently CAN'T hold my liquor.  I did feel fine when I came to about 10 min later...
we plan on coming up again sometime...maybe this time I will actually prepare a little better and write down the aisle number.

It's Row 12, CassandraR.  Look for the big, tall Scottish flag (if its owners are there the next time you come).

This weekend was a bit light.  Queen Bonnie and I were there with Avid from TNRF on Saturday.  EloquentXI passed through, as did ChrisB.  DonaCatalina and Don Juan were there on Sunday.  Can't remember if there was anyone else.  Sorry we missed you Macintyre!

We made the pre-cannon meet up first weekend, and it was great.

That said, getting the lovely lady up in time for cannon itself is a challenge i do not often win, much less for a pre-party. I regret I will have to miss you all until inside the faire the rest the season.

Bumping up the thread as a reminder to folks, for those that will be there early.

Row 12, 8:30- 9:30. Around 9:30 ish (estimating here), everyone usually starts to wander over to see the cast and get in line up by Front Gate. I'll be there, so just look for a black SUV, not my truck!

Can't wait to see everyone! <3

I'm a newbie to RF so I don't really count....but I'll be there unless both daughters plan on coming on Saturday. It is impossible to get them ready on time so I'll drag in around 10:20 as usual.

If they don't go on Saturday...I'll be there by 9

Hugs,

Looks like we will only be there Monday. Just gotta have a cookout with all the kids Sunday! Hope to meet some of you I have not, and say good morrow to some I have not seen this year. See you all at the final day before the countdown to opening day 2010 begins!

I have missed out on the R/F pin by the way, are they still available? I think we need bumper stickers...it'd be nice to know RFers when we see them out in the "other" world. I worked in the same office with and RFer right here in Wichita Falls for 3 months before someone else told us we should meet because of our love of Faire and found out we had seen each other at Faire, but didn't recognize the other in the 'dane world. Bumper stickers...

Would my rogue and I be welcomed to join you for the meet and greet?  We had so much fun this year with season passes we are thinking of getting friends of the fair passes next year.  We would like to meet everyone. Would we be welcomed?

Just letting ya'll know that we Bayou Scoundrels will be there in spirit.  That's just a bit early to be getting up and going for us.  Don't think I've seen opening cannon since I joined up in fact.  We've tried.  Just doesn't work out.  We'll have to see everyone inside.

It's a little after 0200 here in 2051 at CMDF ([University of] CharleMagne, Denmark Facility) and with all the delays and unexpected events, I'm a bit hesitant to say that I shall be back there soon in a few hours.

I feel like the Great Eastern Seas God Makomba, savior of many a sea Captain, who manages to arrive at the last moment in a blast of smoke, coughing, wheezing, singed.

But I'm awake, the equipment is warming up, and in about 4 hours, I'll step into the Time Displacement Capsule for a 3 hour trip to get back to you all.

Rain or shine, the weather won't stop me. In fact, rain might be slightly easier for that llama wool is meant either for rain or cold.

I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.........especially since I will be seeing all over and over again in the pictures.

Crossed fingers.
