Hello everyone!
A few weeks ago I entered a contest on www.inhabitat.com. The contest was to take an item you'd normally just throw out and repurpose it. I had just recently bought a brand new macbook and the case it came it was stellar. It was just too nice of a case to throw out. But I also didn't want to carry it around and advertise that I could be carrying a $1300 laptop. So, I took some fabric and covered the box. I use it for crafts, and occasionally for carrying the laptop.
Anyway, I entered my box and was picked for the top 15 entries in the contest. A vote is now underway to choose the top design. There are some really great ones up there, and while I don't think I will surpass the top two, I would LOVE to stay near the top and not at the bottom of the list. A lot of these people are designers, professionals. You might call me more of an amateur crafter who is excited to be listed among the others.
If you'd take a moment to vote (for me, or someone else if they're your favorite) I would really appreciate it.

I just cast my vote...and now I know what I'll do with MY macbook box - it's just been on a shelf waiting for something awesome to happen to it ;)
It looks padded - is that just the fabric?

It's not padded, and I just used cotton. I think it just looks that way because of the shape of the box and the way I put the fabric on.
I'm tempted to turn it into a product and sell my services/the cases. Only problem is that I don't know how marketable it is.
Oh Yeah, it's marketable. Think of all the people who Also don't want to advertise they're carrying around a $1300 laptop!

Plus you can personalize it with different material for special orders. If you don't do it, someone else probably will. it's THAT good an idea.
