I was wondering if anyone knows whether the 2 for 1 tickets for opening weekend have to be purchased in advance. I am hoping not; I have a friend coming that will not be able to purchase in advance.

Nope. They don't have to be purchased in advance. The two-for-one deal is available right on site. You don't even have to request it. It's assumed. If you ask for tickets for "two adults" or "four adults" or whatever, you get the two-for-one price.
yep Eric is right you can do advance purchase but it's not required
