Title: Sticky stuff on linen?
Post by: PrincessSara on April 16, 2009, 09:59:10 PM
I just received 16 yards of 2.8oz linen this morning and washed it this afternoon.  After washing it was covered in these little tiny sticky balls of something that I thought was lint but it doesn't quite feel like lint.  They stick to the fabric like burrs even when it's been run through the washer and dryer.  I also had this problem with some 5.3oz linen I bought recently, but before that it had never happened any of the other linen I've had.  All the linen is from fabrics-store.com.  Is there any way to get them off?

Wow that is weird.  We get all our linen there and never have had an issue like you are describing.  I'm presuming you washed in hot and dried it so I have no idea what that might be.  You might try a lint roller to see if it will take them off or a sweater shaver but if you can't get them off, I'd give fabrics-store.com a call.  They have always been very helpful with any issues.
