Post by: Esperanza McDaniels on April 20, 2009, 03:57:54 AM
I haven't seen a topic about this yet, and thought that perhaps some weren't aware of this.  I know I wasn't until I saw a bulletin on my myspace.  Sounds like fun!  Below is the info.  Anyone going???

Yes! This is real! (Check out www.limestrong.com) Scurvy is a condition caused by lack of vitamin C in the diet, and is still a threat to pirates and landlubbers to this day. Join the Village Villain's Pirate Crew at Pirates Cove for their 1st annual Scurvy Prevention Party! They'll be servin' up citrus grog, beers, a Bloody Mary bar and food to help prevent this unsightly disease. Free admission and Free give-a-ways. Live music will be provided by Pirate Tales from 1-5pm and Drunky Brewster from 6-10pm.

Consume citrus every day and don't let Scurvy get you down! Plan accordingly for Saturday, May 2nd!

I made a call and yep! It's a garb event, if you wants it to be. They said they'll be lot's of pirates running about that day. So you'd best get sewing Jade.  :)

It's at the Friendly Fisherman Restaurant's down below. Sounds like a blast. I doubt I'll be able to make it. Saturday's are tough for me, and I have family in town beginning that weekend. Have fun guys.  :)

No need to feel sad Ambios.  I'm a little envious of you, my friend.  My immediate family lives in Ohio and a few family members will be attending the OSU festival.  I'm jealous that you will be there too as I haven't seen them in almost six months, and I'm a bigtime 'all about my family' kind of girl!  Have fun there!  We will drink to your good health at Pirate Cove!

I hope everyone had fun yesterday!  I know I did.  Kate, Seamus, Mickey, so wonderful to finally meet the people behind the computer.  And Mickey, I apologize that my husband and I were unable to attend your meeting.  We were invited to dinner by some friends from Pirate Tales, and we were starving, so our bellies won out over our urge to stay and have some more fun.  Hopefully next time!

Welcome to the fun, Amalthea!  It was great to get to finally meet you and your good man.  Don't be a stranger; we have a lot going on for the foreseeable future.   And God only knows what 1st Mate Mickey has up his well tailored sleeve that I don't know about just yet.....

As for the rest of the krewe, it was one helluva launch party!   Again, props to Mickey for making it all go smoothly.  The 'Articles of Piracy' was the coolest.....We had the plank owners (founding crew members of a ship are called plank owners) come up and sign the Articles.  I then countersigned it and Mickey sealed it in wax.  The new crew had a momento of the day, and  something else to go with the mountains of swag that the organizers gave away.....Mark Bootz has a bloody loud, booming voice, perfect for calling out raffle ticket numbers above a drunken crowd of pirates!

Damn fine show!

It was so nice to finally meet you!  And I'm glad you recognized me!  I don't wear that crazy pink hat for nothin'!  ;)

Yesterday was a blast with all of you.  Can't wait to do it all over again!

Great to meet ye as well Amalthea! No worries on missing our little ship meeting. We were just having a meet and greet so everyone got to know their shipmates a bit better and those interested in the becoming part o' the crew could see what they were getting into  ;). We'd love to have ye and yer husband aboard!

To the rest of the crew me thanks fer a fine time with all of ye. It was again as fine a day as this salty lad has had with the likes of ye Skallywaygs (and for Joann - "I had as good of a time as I ever had".

Captain Seamus, ye do me a fine honor and I thank ye. Twas me pleasure, and yes Kate, I WAS having more fun than was probably right! Glad that ye all likes yer articles. For those plank members not present, I have yers and we will be doing a bit o' smaller ceremony at our next gathering fer ye.

Also fer those interested in a case fer there letters such as I  made fer mine, PM me about making ye one.

Next events are coming soon. Will be consulting with the Captain and we will post. As always, both crew and stowaways be welcome, one and all!
