Title: Tartan Plaid
Post by: heavy_hammer on April 20, 2009, 10:02:01 PM
Anybody got any plaid material? I need enough for a man's kilt. Let me know if you have any laying around. I would also appreciate any links to fabric retailers that might have some. Thanks

http://www.scottishlion.com/info.html (http://www.scottishlion.com/info.html) The Scottich Lion. When having worked at a local Costume Shop, this vendor had been ordered from for accessories to go with kilts. They also have real Tartan fabrics in the various clans. Not cheap, but exellent wools that will last decades.

You can also doa  Google search on Scottish Faires that take place about the country and inquire as to where they get their tartans from.

Hope this helps.

I get all my fabric from a local wholesaler, SR Harris (http://www.srharrisfabric.com).  I'm pretty certain they would have something suitable in stock, and prices are really good too.
