Just thought I'd announce (to those who are not aware of this already) that Simplicity patterns are on sale this week at Hobby Lobby for $0.99 through this Saturday, May 2.
I believe there is a limit of 5 patterns per sale, but that is easily overcome ;)
Alright. Simplicity has had a lot of pattern sales here lately. Though I am not complaining, I'm celebrating :D
ooh thanks for the info, I'll drop by tomorrow on the way home from work! :)
OH yes, thank you! I stopped at our local, and ours had a limit of TEN! I got any and everything that looked vaguely useful, including the car coats, corsets, old west shooter, French w/panniers, Elizabethan!!!

There is another option...
shop simplicity patterns online, give a friend the numbers of the patterns you want, and reimburse them to purchase and mail you your patterns.
I do that with my grandmother all the time when Michael's has DMC floss on sale.
I do that for my sis.

Whenever there is a sale like this it seem that my pattern collection magically multiplies for some unknown reason. Not that I am complaining.

For some reason that seems to happen at my house too.
I went last night and got my patterns. All 10 of them. I'm so excited. I know I've began the addiction. Now I've got to start getting fabrics for them. It's been years since I've sewn anything so I will start with something simple and cheap fabric wise. I have you ladies to thank for my new hobby (er addiction). lol I'm sure to be asking lots of newbie questions when I get started.
Thank you,
Lady Ellie
Thank for the heads up on the JoAnn' sale next weekend. I was planning to go to my local Hobby Lobby, but wouldn't you know the road is flooded/closed. I'm beginning to think I was not meant to have these patterns.
Taffy should I go buy them for you and mail them? Hopefully this is not a sign that you are not meant to own them at a discounted price.
Not necessary - I'll hit the store again next weekend. If all else fails, their normal price is 40% off. Thanks for the offer - I appreciate it.
Good luck with finding them ;D
I got a few that I didn't have and then realized once the sale passed that I really should have gotten all the other patterns that I do have but in a size smaller for (hopeful) future weight loss. :-[ Oh well, hopefully I'll catch the next sale that rolls around
We went back last weekend and picked up several extra patterns. The Hobby Lobby by us has a limit of 10 patterns per person during the sales. It worked out pretty good... I'm getting to be a cheap old fart these days so I really like sales. ;)
Jon.
JoAnn's has them 2 for $5 now - picked up the tudor gown & underpinnings pattern, also the Victorian auto duster pattern.
Really glad to hear you were finally able to find the mystical patterns. I'm thinking about buying that duster pattern next. Not sure on where I could wear it though :(
