Title: Mayday festival Minneapolis
Post by: winterland on May 06, 2009, 01:31:01 AM
Anyone go the Mayday parade and fesitival in Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis Sunday?

I think there was the most people I had ever seen there. The weather was perfect.

The parade had an accident where a person fell off in front of one of the floats right in front of us. Held up things for about 20 minutes. Ambulance came and took her away. Theyannounced that was she was going be ok.

Otherwise it was a great time welcoming in Spring getting some needed fresh air and sunshine. There was a magician entertainer who I believe has been at the MN Ren Fest. He had a leather bird face thing going on.  Lots of fun.

My goodness, how does one fall in front of a float at a parade ??
While at the Arizona Ren Faire, there was a magi who was wearing a bird mask - quite interesting.  May have been the same one?

I went, had a great time. I heard the injured had snuck an authorized float in.
Weather couldn't have been better and I'm always impressed by the costumes and strange bikes.

Yeah Avalon and I were there with some friends, and we witnessed the accident.  I can't believe how much of it they showed on the news, it was rediculous.    Basically she was running backwards in front of it and went to jump onto it, missed her grip fell and got run over by the float.

It was a nice day for it, but as I have said many times about many things, I hate people, I hate crowds and I hate HATE crowds of people.  I left pretty quick.
