How the heck could I forget that one! Thanks!

Lawton is a maybe
RaevynCait, if you make it up to Lawton, do stop by and introduce yourself, I'd love to meet a fellow R/F'r! We'll be performing 6 shows per day (stage bouncing from Children's Realm, Gypsy Stage, and Queen's Stage) but we will also have an encampment area where I'll be plying my nursing trade if needed (am hoping not to be needed).
Fair Winds,
Emerald
With work being demanding, and fuel prices being so high, our faires have been limited from what we thought they would be. I had originally intended to be visiting Master James and his lovely wife this week and then attending VARF, but alas, did not happen. However...
--We have been to Pyrate Con and St. Louis already.
--Will go to St. Louis Pirate Fest in September.
--KCRF most weekends.
--There is talk of going to visit a friend in Chicago in early August, which would of course mean we would HAVE to go to Bristol while we were there!
--Once we sort out things, either CRF or MDRF, but it is looking more like CRF in November, we'll see.
Let's see, already come and gone this year:
Wicked Winter Ren Fest - Feb
BARF - March
TNRF - Rendezvous - May
Still to come this year:
NYRF (Scattered days here and there, not sure which ones yet)
PARF (Celtic Fling, Sept 20th for wedding and any other days I can squeeze in)
TXRF (Halloween Weekend - I'd say it's a 95% chance I'll be there)
With RPFS now finally over and gas prices being a hinderance, I might not attend as many this season as well. Still the following are in consideration:
Big Bear Renaissance Festival - August 9-17
Las Vegas Age of Chivalry - October 10-12
Ojai Pirate Fair - September 20-28
Escondido Renaissance Festival - October 25-November 2
Possible/Will Try
San Diego Renaisance Fair - August 2-3
Colorado Renaissance Festival - June 14-August 3
Northern California Renaissance Faire - September 6-October 12
Bristol Renaissance Faire - July 5-September 1
I've already made it to:
OU Medieval Faire
Joplin Ren Fest
OK Ren Faire
I plan to attend:
OK Celtic Fest
Tulsa's Scottish Games
Tulsa Ren Faire
Northwest Arkansas Ren Fest
If things work out right, I'll also attend:
Bridgewater Ren Faire (If it happens)
Sapulpa Ren Fest (If it happens)
Great Plains Ren Fest
KC Ren Faire
This Year:
-KYHRF-invasion Saturday. (wanted to stay the weekend, but my traveling companion couldn't get both days off work. Curse Walgreens!)
-ORF-definitely every Saturday in September (and one Sunday!), and at least two trips in October. (Thank goodness for that season pass!)
2009
Still up in the air, but definitely ORF. I'll try making it down to KYHRF again, and I'm hoping to add either Bristol or MIRF. Who knows? If we manage a trip to visit my hubby's best friend, I may end up at BARF as well.
Scarby - a Saturday visit for Pirates Invasion - what a nice bunch of people!; and
TRF - am looking at All Hallows & Pirate Invasion - and possibly one other day, as time & funds permit.
Silver Leaf is a very shaky maybe.
We're planning on a few trips to Michigan (the exact weekends are uncertain, t'will be work-permitting, but we're HOPING to make opening day, Aug 16th...we usually also try for closing day and a few in between).
Mid Michigan is another possible...again, work permitting. :P
Of course, Tennessee is done with for the year :'(, but I'll be attending ORF with our unofficial invasion (or is it official?) on Sept 13/14! Huzzah!
Minnesota and Texas are penciled on to our schedule and then, of course, Florida faire season begins in November.

This is most excellent! I get to enjoy your company twice this year ... awesome!
This will give me a chance to sweet talk you into coming to MDRF!
I'm going to Michigan!!! HUZZAH! 8)
this year is rather depressing for me fairewise. last year, I was cast at my local faire (the St Louis renfaire), was part of an invasion of Bristol, and invited for teh weekend to a tentfaire in Jeff city then invited to spend a weekend at KCRF.
this year, I was cast again at STL, but will be unable to do anything else, not even sure if I'll be at the pirate fest this fall

It wouldn't take too much talking...but I can't do it this year, I've maxed out the days I can take off with going to ORF until after October...But who knows what next year will bring?
I've been to NCRF already and plan on attending mdrf, parf, varf, glmf, crf, and possibly pittsburgh this year.
Events of 08 so far:
Sonora Celtic Faire - March 8th
Medieval Feast in the Napa Castle - March 29th
Valhalla Renaissance Faire - June 7th
NorCal Pirate Festival - June 14th (actually that is today)
To come:
Summer BBQ in the Napa Castle - June 28th
Pirate Fest at Twisted Oak Winery - August 16th
Northern California Renaissance - Sep 13-14th
Folsom Renaissance Faire - Oct 18th
Dickens Christmas Faire (does this count?) - ?
Well, I had quite the ambitious schedule mapped out early on but I've been scrubbing shows from the docket pretty regularly. I'll list here what was the original plan and cross out the shows I've had to scrap plans for thus far...
First half of year:
BARF (every weekend throughout run)
TnRF (Memorial Day Weekend)
John Levique Pirate Days
Second half of year:
NYRF
MiRF
MDRF (Labour Day Weekend)
TRF (Weekend before Halloween) *
SMF (November)
* subject to budgetary feasibility... may be scrubbed as well
Well, so far: Gulf Coast, NCRF, GARF, and TNRF. Planned for the rest of the year: MDRF (Labor Day), CRF, Mobile, ALRF, and a Renaissance themed wedding in Maine in Nov.
Woohoo!
I've just been to Silver Kingdom in Mass, the next one will be Southern CTRF in July, and the last one will be CTRF where I'll be volunteering and hope to be there several weekends. We'll have to see about any other faires in between them - I have to drop my daughter off at college near Albany in August, so maybe something in New York this year!
One weekend at KYRF http://www.kyrenfaire.com/ (http://www.kyrenfaire.com/)
One weekend at GLMF http://www.medievalfaire.com/ (http://www.medievalfaire.com/)
Twelve days and nights at Pennsic http://www.pennsicwar.org/penn37/ (http://www.pennsicwar.org/penn37/)
It's not really a renfair, but if you're a rennie, you haven't lived until you've experienced a Pennsic night with thousands of people in garb and firelit parties.
All eight weekends at ORF http://www.renfestival.com/ (http://www.renfestival.com/)
Already went to KyHRF, which was awesome.
To come, my home faire, NYRF...Sterling and possibly Pennsylvania.
Oh, and Catskill Mountain Renaissance Fest, which is only one weekend but it's right around the corner.
Toki and I are going to CoRF and planning on TRF (duel visit to see his mom in Corpus and to visit TRF for the weekend) and maybe KCRF
Lady D, my lady and I plan on being at KCRF probably Oct 8 weekend. Any idea when you are planning your trip? Would be great to meet up with you if possible.
So far this year:
BARF
TNRF
Later in the season:
MDRF
PARF
That is probably all we'll be able to do this year.

Master James.
we are not yet sure as of this time if we will make KCRF this year or not. That time is near when we are talking of TRF, but then again TRF may be Thanksgiving weekend or closing weekend. A lot has to do with $$$ and if we can swing both or not and then there is the time off. We can make KC in 1 day so we would leave on a Friday in Colorado drive all day and make KC at night. We woulf hten leave Monday for CO. It once again all depends on $$$ and then time off. Right now I am a contractor and as such get zero vacation. So that means UN-paid time off for me.
Lady D I fully understand that! I was just looking at costs to fly out, get a hotel and car not to mention food and such and while not astonomical is a bit expensive so we have to plan carefully too. It would be great to see you if possible. As things get closer hopefully the stars will align and I'll see you there!
As for I, Cloisters definitely.
Hoping to make Tuxedo.
Things are a little crazed and tricky right now, but otherwise finances dictate the trips right now.
Faire I have done this year
Southern Cal Pleasure Faire
Tulare
Mississippi Gulf Coast
Ojai Spring
SLO Faire
Faire I plan to attend
Ojai Pirate faire 9/20/8 - 9/28/8
:)
Amira Hawkins
NCR -done
VARF - done
MDRF - home faire in progress
PARF (hopefully)
CRF
Dallan do you and Lady Di plan on attending VARF any time next year?
Definitely going to Four Kingdoms RF, and Stronghold OEF is a possibility, depending on funds.

Absolutely! We love VARF almost as much as MDRF. The last 3 years we have come for closing weekend. It's been Father's Day weekend as well. It coincided with both R/F and M'Crack Invasion weekends the last 2 years. At MDRF TJ announced that he was moving the VARF date. So I'm not sure exactly which weekend we'll be there yet. We may try to do more than one.

Excellent I'll see you there next year.If you happen to see me in passing or anywhere on site please don't hesitate to stop and say hello.
Sterling (home) - every weekend
MDRF - Labor Day
Niagara Scottish Festival & Highland Games (North of Buffalo, NY) - This weekend!
PARF - 1st weekend of October
Just finished Colorado RenFaire and the Longs Peak Scottish Irish Games.
Have Texas RenFaire in the works and maybe Las Vegas.
Have already attended:
TWIG old world faire
WIRF
In the process of MNRF
Looking forward to 2009 where mayhap will be attending AZRF.
I'm a newbie to faire, just this year and last at the MDRF... but I gotta have more. Our season ends the weekend of Oct 17-18. So how does one in the DC area stretch the season out? Could anyone suggest an east coast grand loop of good faires? I think our family's more the eat, drink, shop and "people-watch" type than historical re-enactors, if that's any help. Thanks!
Me and my husband attends 4 different ones:
ST. Louis Renaissance fair in May
ST. Louis Pirate Festival in Sept
Tenn Renaissance fair in May
Louisiana Renaissance in Nov.
We hope to meet some of the members at these fairs.
Newbie to the fairs also. My first was MDRF last year
will be attending again this year but in garb, closing weekend. ;)
Would like to do the
PARF as well as MDRF next year. ;D
Well DragonWing for being a newbie to the ren faire world you chose well in choosing MDRF as your first Ren Faire. When I went there back a few years ago I was so amazed at what I saw and the people that I met that I have been wanting to go back for quite some time now.As for PARF I would love to go there one day and play with their nobles guild since I am a veteran noble myself and have been for the last few years. If you are ever in the Va area you should stop by the Va Ren Faire and check it out sometime. We are a small but growing faire but we overall we are a friendly bunch that will not only play for you but with you as well.
My smiling face will appear at...Four winds, Scarborough, Middlefaire and of course TRF
So it looks like VARF would cover me for Spring/Summer, MDRF can remain my Autumn haunt, plus I can hit PARF for closing weekend. So what other faires can I work into my schedule to extend the season (or what eastern faires should not be missed...)?
I don't know of any eastern faires off the top of my head right now but I will say that TNRF and LARF are two faires that you probably won't want to miss.Hope that helps a little.
There's Pittsburg in the fall and Carolina which runs into November. NCRF is in the spring. Go to the Forum home page to find more. http://www.renaissancefestival.com/festivals/map.php
Yes, don't forget CRF. Invasion is the last weekend (Nov 15 & 16), and I promise, it will be a sight to behold. We would love for you to join us.
I don't know why I bother listing my itinerary because my plans always change. I end up not attending a faire I thought I would, and the opportunity arises to go to one I hadn't even considered. :)

Steev –
Pleasure meeting you and Annie yesterday. As Peddlin says there's also closing weekend at CRF. Diane and I are planning on taking the boys down for a long weekend. There is a possibility that things could change. Devon, the oldest, plays football and his team is very competitive this year. They've locked a play-off spot and if the make it to the Super Bowl we'll need to cancel the trip at the last minute.
And BTW, thanks for the jump. Fortunately the car started after faire with no problem.
We need an update for 2009
