A couple of things are in the works for the last weekend in June. That's the closest weekend to Leinad's birthday and we're gonna be in Tampa.
First up is music
This one is at Madge Estes' instigation. We had a blast at Skipper's last time .... how do they say it? Good wine, women, and song *chuckling* It's a different kind of music this weekend so I've included a link to Cyril's MySpace page. If you like what you hear or just want to enjoy some great company, consider joining us.

Next up is a Canoe Trip
Jezzy's handfasting present to Leinad and I was for a canoe trip on the Hillsborough River. We've scheduled to make that trip on the Hillsborough River on June 28th. Have to be there at 9:45 for a 3.5 hour float down the river.
We're taking Trip 4, the Sargeant Park to Trout Creek Park combination of trip. We've talked to friends, both here and non-rennies, and so far we've got five canoes going. Didn't know if anyone else was available or interested but thought we'd throw the info out and see.
Canoe Escape (http://canoeescape.com/) runs the trips. We've scheduled to leave at 10am. Here's what it says about our trip:
Trip 4 combines trips 1 and 2 for four hours of Tampa's best wilderness paddling and wildlife observation. Morris Bridge Park (the midpoint of the trip) makes a great stopping place for lunch, to stretch your legs, or just relax before heading downstream. 4-hour paddling time; 8-1/2 miles, 75% shade first 3-1/2 hours; then full sun.
Self-Guided Rentals
Tandem canoe or kayak
(2 paddler minimum charge)
Trips 1, 2, or 3: $23.50 per paddler
Trips 4 or 5: $28.50 per paddler
Trip 6: $33.50 per paddler
Some tandem canoes are large enough to accommodate center passengers as follows:
under 12 (2 center passengers maximum): Free
12 - 17 (1 center passenger maximum): $8.00
18 or older (1 center passenger maximum): $12.00
Solo kayak
Trips 1, 2, or 3: $44
Trips 4 or 5: $49
Trip 6: $54
We'd love to see as many of you as are interested in either event.

Cyril Neville was great!
The canoeing Sunday was a blast. Beautiful weather, great company and gorgeous wild Florida... complete with gators, ospreys, cormorants, herons, turtles, etc. A wonderful tims had by those who were there, and missed by those who weren't.
Happy Birthday, Leinad!
