Title: Celtic Banner String
Post by: bellevivre on June 16, 2009, 10:14:33 AM
Saw a banner like this (http://snipurl.com/k8fjs  [images_google_com] ), but in celtic theme, at the local celtic store. It was priced at $45, and I KNOW i can do better than that!

My plan is to use bleached muslin, fabric markers, and a cross-stitch frame to keep the pieces taut as I work. I'll shop for celtic stencils, and also traceable designs. I'll probably bind the edges in something sturdier to keep them from blowing around TOO much, and maintain a sort of stained glass luminosity.

We have an easy-up that we use for our kitchen, which is vaguely pavilion shaped- I'll hang the square banners around it and they will look like painted crenelations...

Thoughts?

Sounds like a nifty way to make your pavilion stand out from the crowd! I have absolutely no doubt that you can do better than that mass-printed store-bought stuff, and I can't wait to see the pics!
