Title: Early 1500s Rosary
Post by: PrincessSara on July 01, 2009, 06:49:43 PM
Does anyone have any images (or information) of rosaries from about 1500-1530?  I'm looking to make one for my noble garb.  The rosary wasn't standardized until 1573, so it will look different from a modern rosary.

Thanks!

I'm working on this one: http://www.bildindex.de/bilder/mi01605d11a.jpg It's late 1500's but there's this much earlier one: http://www.kikirpa.be/www2/cgi-bin/wwwopac.exe?DATABASE=foto2&LANGUAGE=0&COPYTEXT=&COPYRIGHT=&442753=on

We went through this company for the rosary beads and the centerpieces and crucifixes were custom made in Italy. This company specifically designs rosaries based on historical pieces. I highly recommend them.
