Title: Child Vest
Post by: Gauwyn of Bracknell on July 05, 2009, 09:50:33 AM
M'lady is going to attempt to make a simple vest for our 9 year old son.  Any ideas out there as far as where to get patterns and a little sewing help.  She does very little sewing, so it would be nice for it to be simple.  We have bought the fabric for the lining and outer.

Mccalls #5907, #5446, #4952 are easy, and I don't sew!

For *very simple,* I'd try some of the holiday pageant patterns, like Simplicity 4797 (http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=4797).

(Haven't had a chance to check out Lady Renee's recs, but I'm sure they're great!)

Just be aware, though, that usually it's a good idea to consult the pattern before buying fabric, just to be sure you buy the right amount, and that it's suitable for the item you're making.  :)

McCalls and Simplicity are really easy to follow and use.  Although I think Simplicity can sometimes be the easiest of the 2 to use.
