So I've been debating on whether to post this or not, but I desperately need you ladies help, and you have never failed me and you offer sooooo much advice. ;D
I have been in a desperate search for silver or gray fabric, preferably jacquard or some kind of pattern to it, to make my new dress and my husbands doublet with. As always, I am looking for it to be cheap. Drapery fabric, cotton, etc. Anything to make a nice dress, doublet. The fabric I have now, although lovely in color, is way to light and sheer, more like a lining. And although I appreciate it and got it for free, it still bites that I can't really use it because I love the color.
I've been searching multiple websites, and on google, at Jo-Ann's, FashionFabricsClub, etc. I cannot find what I want! So I need you ladies suggestions for this :) Please help!!!! Any links to sites with the fabric, I will appreciate. I looked at the thread with the online stores, and maybe I'm skipping it but I cannot find what I want!!!
I'm thinking eBay is your best friend. Searching for either silver or grey jaquard/brocade/damask there will give you lots of hit, in all price ranges (you can specify desired amount and price in left field after doing the basic search as well). Some list the price by yard, some by the lot - but it seemed to be some good deals there.
Something like this maybe? Grey or silver are hard to find it seems! I've seen silver on black and such, but hard to find a silver/grey jacquard. I don't know what these fabrics are made from, but you could contact them and ask.

Whoops! Just reread your post and I see you've already looked at this site. I'll leave it all the same, and if I come upon something else I send it along. Good luck!
Another idea, if you really love the fabric you have but feel it is too light, is to line your fabric to give it some substance and make it drape better.

I did think about that, but honestly the fabric itself is almost see through silverish/gray looking. When I received it, it was folded, so I assumed it was a solid color, but upon unfolding, I realized that it's too light to do anything with, it will probably work best as a lining.

So you are picking one of my favorite colors, Purple and Silver/Grey. I am not placing things on bargain however if you watch these they will go on sale and then you snag them, and create your own fabric stash.
So here is a place to check out:
