Title: Stretching suede shoes
Post by: Gauwyn of Bracknell on July 09, 2009, 08:03:24 PM
We bought our son some suede ankle high mocassin shoes.  The length is good, but his arch is a little high and he says they are a bit tight on the top of the foot .  Will these stretch a little with wearing, or anything to help them stretch?  They do not need much.

a FABULOUS way to stretch shoes by 1/2-1 size at most is to take a zip lock baggie and fill it about 1/4 of the way.  Close it up and place it down into the shoe where you need the stretch.  Place the entire shoe into the freezer.  Allow to freeze.  Take out of freezer and then let the water melt enough to easily slide out the baggie.  VOILA!  it will stretch have stretched out.  This is a quick shoe "break in" with only a fraction of the time of actually having to wear them and do the job.

I have done this with heals, boots, ballet flats... So if it works on those, it should work perfectly well on your son's shoes

oh, and I also should have pointed out, if its the top portion of the shoe (upper toe-ish area/top of the foot) you may need to support the baggie from below with tissue or paper towel to give it the lift to stretch up and down and not side to side.
Did that make sense? ???
