OOOO Indigo I will be there that weekend and you know I'm always up for a judge spot :)
Actually if possible if I could snag two judge spots. Message me for details.
I think I can judge...not sure how to "help"...but I'll be there that weekend. ::)
I'll be there Friday noonish so if you need a judge just let me know.

Darn it. I will not be there. But I cant wait to hear about all the fun and who won.
Go Trinn, Go Trinn! ;D
Sorry Teach, but it would be super if she beat ya again, lol. tee-hee
As in last years contest. I'll collect the "samples" and provide the entry forms. Last year it was a bit chaotic at the last minute.
Entry forms require that you state the ingredients. All entries in a class will be summarized and reported to the judges, so that any allergies to a specific ingredient will be identified before the judging.
Last year was a bit disorganized as folks turned in entries late and we had so many entries. Also, the sample bottles were visible to the judges as the samples were poured. We will try to eliminate this.
We will provide plastic cups and water for judges to cleanse their palates. It would be nice if folks donate grapes and cheese for palate cleansing. Hmm, I'm kidding, after a few tastings, most palates are dead.
I will try to make this a double blind judging. An entry will receive a sequential number (traditional, flavored, custom) when they submit the sample bottle. The judges will receive the samples with another judging number (not name of entry, nor entry number). This will eliminate entrants from telling judges to vote for entry #.
This pretty much follows the rules for the professional BBQ contests that I judge every year.
Oh yes, judges, if you have a low alcohol tolerance, you might need to consider which class you volunteer for. For traditional, can you handle 20-30 2 oz samples?

Thanks for the support... sheesh
I'm torn as to what to enter this year... but I think I have an idea
*and no, it's not rum flavored.. that is actual rum!*
SOMEDAY I'll make it for this!!! I cant wait to hear about entries, and winners!
Can I ship some down to be entered, not sure we can make it down this year......
Thank you, Mike. I was hoping you'd want to do this. I don't think there is any way we could make this work without you.
Re judges and entries, we'll probably put up a database on the Loki yahoo group for anyone who wants to judge or enter. If we get more judges than we need (imagine that), we'll probably put the names in a hat and draw out who gets to be a judge.
Bacardi, if you want to ship your entry down, that will work. Of course, that means I get to claim whatever is left in the bottle when the judges finish with it. lol.

I would expect nothing less. :D
Unfortunately I'm not eligible to be a judge, as I was one last year. I might consider entering one this year though. Will have to see how the batches turn out.
I'll be entering some this year! Again....
Let's just hope and pray that I can get a decent score this time around. :'(

Well at least you don't have a minion riding on the outcome this time. :o
I do believe I shall be entering a sample or two into the contest this year.
