Title: Mead Update
Post by: William_MacKean on July 24, 2009, 10:40:00 AM
Thought I'd post a quick update for you all, my lovingly loyal friends and patrons.

'Original Mead Booth' - Near guard camp & cigar tent
No known structural changes.
I will be working this booth with Dick (the older fella from last year and awesome guy) and Jodi of the hobbit/riddle booth/Wanda fame!

'Bad Manor Mead Booth' - Overlooking the Arbor
Will be torn down and replaced with a tent.  It should provide seating, shade, and entertainment venue.
Staffing this booth will Be Tony and Jeavonna, who you may know from Gemini Glass, Vil banner holder, and winged bellydancing.

All of my workers (self included) are only paid a portion of the net revenue, and a relatively small one at that.  So come by often!

No word on price, size, or which booth will have which varieties.  I will post that the moment I know.

There will be NO filling of glass bottles or after hour sales from the booths.  If you wish to purchase anything in bulk to be delivered outside the gates, you may email me or the Jims or stop by the booth.

It's gonna be a great year!  If there is ANYHING we can do to better serve you, let me know.  (Pre-paid cards have been shot down, sorry.)

What about the booth near the bear stage?

Looks like I'll be spending my "free" time (hahahha) at the old mead booth.  Can't say I find any reason to go to the one by bad manor but I know have plenty of reason to avoid it.

See you when I'm conscious.

Still there, as far as I know.  Janet and her family are staffing that one.

Update from 8/1:
Original booth's counter has been refinished.  Might put another coat on, but it should be good to go.

Bad Manor Mead booth is all tore down and ready for its 20' x 30' tent and small flooring space for the bar.  There will be seating and possibly space for small entertainment.  A far sight better than the little condemned shack it was in last year.

Being a member of a performance troupe in the Feast Hall, I am curious as to the layout of that area.  Saw it yesterday.  They took down a portion of the fence that would usually have enclosed the small backyard of the Feast Hall.  Any news on what they will be doing there?

There will still be access from the front (and I believe along the back), though the 'green room' space will be reduced.  Memory serving, I think the puppets muster around there somewhere, too.  I do hope the new setup is not too intrusive or overdone.  It's not my call, either way.

I do wonder if there might be a way to add mead to the Feast menu...

Directly up those stairs on the side where the Mead booth is, is where the Puppet room is.  There are between those stairs and the mead booth is where there were Biffies for the customers in the Feast.  Should be interesting to see what they do.  With the space we had last year, it did on occassion become very crowded.  Especially with Royal Court or the Court Revelers getting ready to make their appearance during the feasts.
