I can not wait till TRF! Yay for camping and seeing all of my friends!

*Groans* Come ON! Cant it get here any faster?! I want to see everyone again! But at least it is not too far away. (I just like makin' a fus) :P :D
Be real glad you didn't miss Scarby, It was killing me b4 scarby now I gotta count the days........... I am NOT missing TRF
*taps fingers on table, fidgiting*
...grargh. I am never going to make it to October if I can't make my roadtrip down to see everyone in July.
I am ready for TRF NOW! It always seems like such a long wait- and once TRF starts- it is over in a flash! I need to work on time reversals. Waiting should go fast. faire time should feel longer!
As it stands right now, I have TRF penciled in for the Halloween invasion... on my schedule.
I'm not sure that will come to fruition, but I hope it does, because you guys (those of you I've met) are awesome!! I want to see you all again... and meet those of you I haven't met yet!
Yay! I hope that you will be able to visit Count! We will be most honored to have you as our guest and I want to meet you too!
*Sigh* I wish it were NOW! Although I would have to say I would much rather the cooler weather come with it.
I know this is a little off topic so please don't shoot me, but is anyone going to go to Middlefaire in Hillsboro TX... I believe the dates are September 27/28 and October 4/5.
I might go on the 27th or 28th
We'll probably go to Middlefaire for at least one weekend. No firm plans as of yet.
Going to try and make it at least one weekend.
I plan to be at TRF and Middlefaire one weekend each. Too early for exact plans.

Just wanted to let y'all know and hopefully get you even more revved up for the season...
We have a fantastic cast set for this year. Lots of returning talent as well as some new talent that you'll love. This year the performance company has some great ideas in store for entertaining the patrons.
I always enjoy the TRF cast! Can't wait to see what you all do this year! Smiles!!! Always happy to play along!
Hugs to all!
Even in the middle of a move, I made sure to take garb over to the new digs before anything else. Also got to dig my shoes out of storage - drat!
So much to do before October!! Have to move into my dorm, and figure out a space conscious way of storing all the new garb I'm going to be purchasing between now and then. Not enough time!
But then again, I miss faire and everyone so much!!
Wow, TRF, already?!
So, Once again, I have no tickets and once again, everything is starting to get tight. I don't know how we are going to pay for Tickets AND gas.
I would love to buy season passes but my dilemma is that if I can not afford to go very many times this year from gas, I would have wasted all that money on passes. :-\
*sigh* what's a girl to do? :-\ *ponders*
The group tickets are a nice secondary option to buying the season pass package. We can't drive down every weekend either.

i actually don't mind the wait...i've got 5 gallons of mead aging right now and the longer away faire is, the better it's going to taste.
While I would love TRF to arrive sooner, I kind of need the time.
The clann has two meades going, a braggot, and this weird agave ale (don't ask). The more time, the better. One of the meades is already at 11%.
Also, the longer I wait, the more money I can save.
This is me trying my hardest to look on the bright side...

As much as I wish TRF would start tomorrow. I am needing the time to finish sewing and save more money. Only if prices of everything would just go down and pay could stay at the same level. I would be able to save soo much more with out headaches and problems.
Well I was very excited about the '08 season because the wife and I are moving to Austin from San Antonio next month. We used to drive from San Antonio and we couldn't make it but twice a year. Now we will be closer to TRF (as well as Scarborough) and we thought we could get out there more often.
Then she reminded me that we have children and our only multi-day childcare options are in San Antonio. Although we usually take the little one to Scarby, we like to do TRF as an adult weekend. So our shorter trip is longer than ever with a detour in the wrong direction.
Any suggestions?
Have any family or friends in this direction? When hubby and I want an adult only day/weekend at TRF we call family and/or friends. I know in Houston they have anytime daycares/centers. So maybe that might be an option.
We bring the young 'uns with us and camp with McLotofus. This year we ARE trying to get Pirate Fling without the kiddos... but they'll be ther for sure on Thanksgiving. McLotofus usually has several families with kids ranging from wee tiny to almost grown.
We usually take our daughter to Scarborough and we've talked about camping in the family section at TRF before. I'm more inclined to do that one weekend now that we are closer. But like most parents, we don't get a lot of alone adult time to have some drinks and have fun and TRF camping is the one activity of the year where we get to cut loose and have fun (as we did in our youth... sigh).
At some point we'll make friends in Austin but of course, it takes a pretty strong relationship to drop off kids for 72 hours. In the mean time we may just have to do... hmmmm... crating? (that's a joke, by the way.)
I had just hoped to hit TRF 3x this year instead of our usual 2. But it may have to just be the one time.
Month and a half only? I better start working on the babysitting....
When you say it taht way... I better get off my butt and get to sewing. Oh goodness. Times seems to be moving ever so quickly lately.
Not fast enough

We can't make it this year until Nov. 01. I'm anxiously awaiting you-all's photos.
The waiting is so HARD!!!
hehehehe
Decided that we needed a few camping essentials and did some shopping today
Remembered the cold and sleet of closing weekend so I bought a new heater (early, not at last minute like usual)
Bought a new larger ice chest on wheels (one of the cube ones)
Bought propane for the camp shower
and... Bought a new tent, this one is set up for cold and hot much better than our one last year
Now... The renbox is packed (that has all the bits and pieces that fill out the garb, plus boots)
The camping box is packed (that has all the standard camping gear)
The toiletries box is packed (thats all the stuff for the shower and um... other stuff)
The Loki box is packed (if you want a mason jar, you may want to renmail me ahead of time)
The booze box is packed (plenty of rum and a splash of tequila for the Lovely Lady Trinn)
The camp shower is charging
Water jugs are full
Snacks, sodas, water bottles all bought and packed
Garb is organized and ready to be hauled out to the car
The Lovely Lady Trinn is getting rid of the garb wrinklies
All gear is now stacked and ready to go in the garage
yeah... I'm a little ready to get this faire started!
is it faire yet? how about now? now? ok, now? now? now? ready now?

Yup - We're almost there. Like Teach we've picked up some new gear. Still plannin to pick up some more. Got a new shower for this year, an additional pavilion and some cots to keep the mattress off the deck. Another ice chest, not sure you can have too many.
Some time this week I've got to bust out the tents and begin the water proofing process. Final weekend of last year taxed the tents ability to keep us dry. Also have to drag the camping boxes out of the attic and begin repacking. FYI - Candles don't store very well in an attic in Texas, well at any time of the year (o:

I believe it is truly very difficult to see everything at TRF in one visit. Even one weekend. I've been attending for about five years straight and still haven't seen all the shows. Well, at least all the shows I want to see. Of course the camaraderie and rum may play a small part in that too (o:

Well, its looking more and more like I'll be coming down over Oct. 31st-Nov.2 now. I'm kind of excited. I felt like last time I didn't get to do and see nearly as much as I would have liked.
Whaaat?! I didn't now you were coming!!! Looks like I'm going to have to try and make it down that weekend...Oiy, if I can afford it, I'll be there with a big hug! It'd be so great to see you, Diva!
Diva,
Keep any out for my wings that weekend, especially Saturday. At this point, we are planning to camp and will be attending Saturday. Most times we pack up and go home on Sunday.
OMG I can't wait till we can step foot on to the grounds of the Fair we fell in love at! :) This is going to make 1yr for use this season, next season '09 will be even better.
Oh yes. The pre-game tension is mounting. Any garb left to repair/create? What to bring for food. Vacation days accurate? Tent or RV for sleeping. Who makes the airport drive to pick up the long distance arrivals. Who is actually making the flight? Couple are still up in the air, so to speak, on whether they can make it. Who else can be bribed or conned into coming? All these things rattle around in my noodle about this time of year.

Opening weekend, if all goes as planned, we shall set anchor around B1-C1. That should be right off Mclotofus' southwest back door. I'll have two green and white screened arbors. a unique jolly roger flying and two clan banners. That is if all goes as planned of course (o:

Eh, I could have sworn they were camping on the road around row 3. I didn't realize they were down so far. Oh well - Strike that, we're not in McLotofus' backyard, we're in Chaos'. At any rate we'll be there with our smilin happy faces and flasks full O'Fun.
Can we get an estimate of how many will be camping with McLotofus Opening Weekend?
I would truly hate to come up short on groceries. On the other hand I don't want to go broke on food that gets thrown away because there weren't enough appetites on hand.

That puts you in our backyard then lol. As of closing weekend of last year the Lovely Lady Trinn and I were inducted into Chaos. We camp most weekends on the mutual borders of Gnomeland, Chaos, Claw and POP. OK, POP aren't quite on the border, but they are in quick staggering distance lol.
Which also means it'll be easier to find ya! lol

10 days! Crap, I've got to get into my camping stuff. This weekend, waterproof tent and do a little sewing, I think. Also, a little last minute supply shopping.
Unfortunately we are going on All Hallows Eve weekend, so we have a little more time to get prepared...but uggh we have to wait more....darnit.
Sheesh it came fast after the storm and just getting lights this past weekend. Gotta get all the garb together this weekend and maybe pull out the tent and waterproof it. I doubt I'll have time before Halloween again to do it.
Just put my second coat of water proofing on the tent and arbor this morning. Won't have much time to do it this weekend. Gotta take the baby out to Dewberry's to get a pumpkin. Then we have to go shopping to refill all of our disposable store from last year.
Well, I'm sewing my new chemise and skirt AND getting my new faire hair made. WHOOSH!!!

I'll be there somewhere around the same time as Teach on Friday I'm thinking. As to where I'm camping, we'll see after this weekend.
You know I will be there at your shop with bells on for my hug!! (probably a couple times...hehe). I love those Dragon hugs! Just over a week to go...I can make it...just a few more days...I can do this...
9 days till faire !!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!
What is a girl to do with the time.
I am working on Peep Eaters that's what, and mo mo's too. (faire favors)
AsK me for more info at Faire. :-* OK!!
Not sure on the date I'm going yet, but whenever it is it will be full of fun.
Ah poop! I hope that the weather clears up for the first weekend of Fair! Looking at Plantersville on weather.com the 10 day forecast says Scattered T-Storms from Monday the 6th till Saturday the 11th and it will be in the low 80s. It is too early for them to pull up the Sunday Forecast and well, lets hope that it is too early for them to predict T-Storms all next week too.
I hope they clear up before Friday and give the grounds a little time to dry out. With the dry weather we have been having none of the soil will be able to absorb the water for it is so dry, most will be run off. I don't like walking fair when it is all squishy mud. :(

I've been driving myself crazy for a few days now watching the forecast change daily on accuweather.com. It's been anywhere from mid 70s and clear on Saturday the 11th to high 80s and clear and for a while it was mid 80s and rainy.
GAH! Well lets hope that it gets all of its Hot and Rainy "days" out of its system so when Fair really does come it will be 70 with a nice breeze and a few clouds in the bright blue sky! *crosses fingers*
Fortunately now, they have vendors selling those cute little umbrellas, probably at a premium, but at least it's something if you get caught in one of those pesky scattered showers! Good for shade too! :)
I remember last year when I POURED on one of the Saturday nights we were camping, we have a 10 x 14 canopy and we had more people sitting under that thing with us, drinking and singing to CDs. We stayed up until 4:00. It was actually fun, until next morning ;o)
I don't mind the rain so much...I can always find some place to hide out for a while if it gets bad enough...just prefer not to be COLD when it rains. But I am still keeping my fingers crossed that opening weekend will be a gorgeous day with wonderous temperatures (a girl can hope, right?). Can't wait to see everyone!
Lady Kat, I've always loved your orange garb covered in fall leaves. Is it too early for that?
Lets not forget that 20% T-Storms is the default forecast until December here in South Texas. It's what they say when they don't have a clue. Still hopin for the best...
For the love of lambchops, why, oh why, do I put things off until the last minute every year? I'm prayin' that my top and leather corset (coming from the U.K. no less) get her before next Friday. Having my new skirt sewn as we speak. Don't have the right boots, need knives, a hat, fishnets (you'd think I'd at least have a pair of those at home, aye?)! Anyone else in the same boat wi' me?
Oh, and am I the only one who feels the need to change their bloody garb every bloody year?

I have a pirate shirt to finish that may or may not get done. I had planned pirate garb for a pirate themed amtgard event that we didn't make it to because of our house purchase. With moving, my mother's death, hurricane, unexpected roommates (with 4 kids), and a new puppy...anything involving much time or room to spread out difficult. ::) :P

Can't wait either. Exactly one week from today I will be getting in my car and driving to Houston! :D
Stopping by my parents house later on this weekend to get the tent, cooler, and foldable chair. Gotta shop, get the oil changed, so much to doooooo and all I can do sitting in class when I get bored is draw garb and make lists and almost hear the gypsy bells!
Its oh so close. I can almost taste the Loki...
I don't know that I will stand it much longer...
About to go insane waiting, faire has become almost the only thing I can think of.
*well... that, my Lovely Lady Trinn and rum*
UGGG! Just talked to my wonderful, beautious seamstress (Mom) and she has informed me that my new chemise top may not be ready by next Friday....So not the way I wanted to start my morning! Have to make a trip to JoAnn's Fabric sometime this weekend...need to pick up a few things for the garb I am putting together for Celtic Christmas (Thank the Goddess for gift cards!). Also still have to do last minute shopping...my emergency kit got depleted (thanks to clumbsy 6 yr old nephew), also need to get a new camp chair (put that off for far too long already)...ARE WE THERE YET?[/color]
AH! I want time to go by faster. I keep thinking and feeling with all of this excitement that we will be leaving tonight to go to fair, but alas we are still to early.
I really don't have much to do other than gather my "garb" aka chainmail and some civies to wear around camp. My tent is already set up for me when I get there and all I have to do is blow up my mattress (already packed and ready) and make my bed.
I think I will be able to get to fair about 10-11 PM Friday night. I get off work at 2 PM leaving me to do all of the last minute preparations and gather everything together. Then when Chris gets home at 7:45 we could leave by 8 PM. We normally leave about Mid-night and some time as late a 3 in the morning getting everything ready. But at that time I also had a full time job and did not have the ability to get everything ready during the day.

Welcome back to the board Lady Elizabeth! How did NASA fair from IKE?
The TRF performance cast is excellent this year and we are ready to play!
See y'all Saturday!
Got my top from Amazon Wednesday, got my newly made skirt from Diane Saturday, cut my hat down yesterday and have it ready. Now I need my corset.
Bought all the groceries yesterday. All my camping gear is out in the garage and ready to be packed.
Now I just need to make three days disappear!
Bonny, its for sure to tell you when I will be there. My parents will be there this weekend. Though they are not camping as they first planned too. Thank Ike for that one. But I promise, I will let you know when we are there, wether or not we have the kids.
Well tonight was garb and armor night. Had to dust off the leather, break out the kilts, dig out the wife's dresses from the back of her closet, change the oil in the swords... Busy Busy Busy...
Tomorrow I start staging out what goes in which car and drag out some firewood...
We're almost there...
Michael
Yea, my garage is stuffed! I seriously don't know how it takes so much camping gear for just a weekend! Of course, it's just me and Diane and my daughter at camp, and we're all perfectionists to a fault! So everything has to be just so. I've got to get help for that! We have improved over the years and streamlined some things, but man, is it a job to get that camp set up! I still love it though :)
LOL i know what you mean! At first we brought tent and sleeping bags. Then it was an air mattress. Now we have a freaking shower tent, and this weekend the spare tent for a buddy that's coming! When will it end?!

It doesn't...you keep adding to it until you have so much stuff that you have to buy a trailer to haul it all in... I speak from experience... :P
I actually work off-site, but still in the area of NASA now. Just started my new job last Monday actually. I heard NASA was under water during Ike. I actually am not 100% sure about it all since I was out of the country for 2 weeks prior and a week after the whole hurricane! By the time I got back, I had power and stores were opened again.
I'm totally there with the rest of you on upping what we bring each year. But my sis and I are pretty limited cause I drive a mini cooper and she drives a VW bug!! Talk about limited space! Thankfully our friends have a camper we stay in now and so we don't need the camping gear anymore!!
When we were shopping for a new vehicle last year for the lovely Lady Trinn, our biggest concern was making sure there was plenty of rum... er room for all the gear.
Got her a Scion Xb, perfect size. We can actually haul enough camping gear and garb for 7 people at need (we know that one from experience) including enough water for showers.
I was a scoutmaster with my kid for many many years and know very well what the minimum amount of gear I would need to camp. But... I've done that already... and, I am done with it. Now I want as many comforts as I can find.
Air mattress, showers, AC (yes there is a way to air condition a tent easily), tent heater, plenty of room etc etc...
Next step for us is a camper and that is coming as soon as it is economically possible.
*and lots of rum storage... also very important*
We are actually bring an extra tent when we go camping just to store our stuff and change in. That way it helps keep the sleeping area's a little less cluttered.

Yes please!!!
Wondered how long it would take for someone to ask lol
Bring an extra ice chest full of ice only (not dry ice, you'll suck away your oxygen lol). Cut a piece of plywood (1/4" thick works well enough) to fit just inside the lid. You want as tight a seal as is reasonably possible. Cut a hole in the center(ish) of the plywood about 4x4 inches. Get a battery powered fan and stand it next to the hole. Use plastic (freezer bags are great for this) and duck tape and make a duct that leads from the hole to the fan (tape the plastic to the top of the fan and down the sides and around the hole... if that makes sense). You now have a directional air condition that will cool a tent down dramatically.
Honestly, with the planned temps this weekend I wasn't planning to set one up but I have been researching hard since last years oppresively hot opening weekend. This is the cheapest thing I have found and it works impressively well. Just have to remember to close the ice chest when its not being used to save ice.
*I charge rum for ideas like this normally*
I have to:
a) call my sister to co-ordinate the Great Jenna Hand-Off for this weekend. Fortunately the sis lives in Montgomery.
b) pack Jenna's duds for a weekend at Auntie 'Shele's, including a dress for church Sunday morning.
c) choose my faire outfits for this weekend (I've lost weight and can now wear some things I haven't worn since pre-baby).
d) pack my duds & stuff
e) pack cooler
f) nail down sleeping arrangements
g) have a kick @$$ time!

It doesn't...you keep adding to it until you have so much stuff that you have to buy a trailer to haul it all in... I speak from experience... :P
Huh, Funny... Truck and trailer are on my shopping list for December...
{ Well that is, if our government doesn't wreck our economy to the point where my bank won't lend me the money... And here I was jazzed about my credit score... Damn Congress...}
We added a car seat to our mix... Man that takes away a lot of packing room... Upgrades are a must...
Weather forecast for the weekend is improving. (knocking on wood)
We had quite a blustery storm this morning in the area but it has made way for a very pleasant and quite cool afternoon ;D Hopefully the cooler weather stays with us!! Is there such a thing a a 'cool front' dance??? ;D ;D
As I used to say I'm praying to the gods and doing the rain dance backwards to try the keep the wet stuff away and the cool air here.

Congress, HAH!!! It's time to throw the bums out and start over in my opinion. I've lost many a thousand on the markets these past few days because of that idiotic "bailout".
On the topic, I've got an 8' bed extended cab truck, and it isn't enough room for gear. There is no such thing as "enough room", that's just a myth.

Now remember, you haven't actually lost any money unless you take it out...
Yay, TRF is almost here! I am already all packed and have everything set aside for the car. now if i could get my boy to put together his things we will be golden. :)
Just a few more favors to make and I am good.
Wow Teach, great idea! I already have all the stuff to do that with. It would be nice to have it on hand just in case, as you said, the weather is as punishing as it was last year on opening.
Now, I just need a wagon to put the whole set-up in so I can take it into faire with me!!! ;)

My plan: 100 bucks or less
http://blizzardwizard.net/Products.html 700 bucks plus
I win lol
That is actually where I got my idea from
*I steal ideas, but rum I talk people out of... much different*
Teach left another link under $40 bucks.

Oh, now THAT'S COOL!!! 8) ;D
Yeah, but lugging around yet another ice chest and I'll need a new ren wagon....the Land Rover...she canna take any more cap'n
For that I would MAKE room! ;)
Nope, just have to suffer with nice cold beverages. Pretty sure two ice chests is my limit.
Man, I want to be sitting in the Sea Devil, beer in my mug, listening to Iris and Rose...Right. Now.
i'll second that.
Or getting my breakfast (oatmeal stout) from PoW pub, and chatting with everyone!
Or sitting in the shop, waiting for those who love me to come and say hello...
and bring me presents....
like that pretty feather fan that I wanted...
and a new skirt hitcher from RenBoots...
or that cavalier hat...
or just a frosty cold cider and currant from the PoW...
*just thinkin out loud*
I'll 3rd that Aiacha! That is the first thing I do when we get in the gates. Go right to the Sea Devil, order a nice cold beer, and visit Paul behind the counter and anyone friends already there!
W-A-A-A-A-A-A!!! I want it to be Saturday morning, or at least Friday night!

So glad I'll be stopping by! But yes, for me it is only two. CINC House has not authorized the procurement of a larger vehicle. The Lady's wardrobe does take up so much space LOL
did someone say Iris and Rose?!?!?! i'm so there it's next year and i'm waiting for it to start
I have been playing through my collection of Iris and Rose music all this week
I can't wait for train wreck!
*the rum isn't helping time go faster at all*
So I suppose I'm not the only one who has noticed how fast this entire year has gone by... Yet this week is dragging ascii (Thats weed puller-kee for you non-geeky types).

Dude, I have the same crud.. went to the doc on Monday and she put me on antibiotics and stuff. (I can't take decongestants because of my high blood pressure meds).
My co-teacher came in yesterday with a bit of a cold
I wouldn;t let her stand anywhere near me during class... just in case
*rum helps you get unstopped btw*
Three mornings from now I'll be currently in the door of TRF looking for my breakfast empanada and a stout beverage with 3 of my best friends and twin wearing my favorite and most expensive clothes in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week does seem to be going ever so slow, but the building of anticipation does seem to really energize this first weekend.... so in some ways it's good I guess.
I am working on the weather spells to get the RAIN out of the weekend forecast! Hard work! I will be in new garb also- with new wands and staffs! I have been busy! See you all there. I just push a button and the MeowMobile heads to TRF! LOL!

wow... everyone stopped posting tonight... like they're getting ready for something
spookey...
*perhaps I should hide my rum just in case...*
Well my car is packed, mostly. Tomorrow I pick up the last minute grocery items, make a run to home depot, pack the remainder of my car, pack all of the wifes car, kiss the wife and kid and take my place in line with Mike. 22 hours and counting.
I'm pretty much ready. As soon as I get off work Friday at lunch, I just gotta rush home and throw some clothes in a bag and I'm ready to head that way.
I'm excited!
I still have until mid november! On one hand it drives me crazy, but on the other, I can keep saving up much-needed cash.
Today has been a whirlwind and tomorrow will be even worse. Just gotta get everything done before Friday!
Can't believe its sooooo close. It's so close it's painful.
Man, WHY do I have a huge Speech tomorrow!?!?! I have to type it up but instead I am sitting here posting on the forums in anticipation and excitement.
This is torture! *sigh* must... work... on speech! Forces to log off.... but maybe in just a few more minutes... ::)
speech smeech, i've heard you talk before and couldn't find anything wrong with your speech. no lisps or nothin.
Ya, I have work and it's a new job and I know I should be doing my training stuff, but instead I'm on here cause I can't stop thinking about fair and the only people who truly understand that are on here... and somehow writing about it and reading about it seem to make me feel a bit better...

I
so know what you mean! Do come by the Odeon this weekend. Sound & Fury has a new show, "A Little Death", and I'm sure they'd love a Queen's audience!!! (Even if you're not in full-on QEI mode.)
~Lala
Tomorrow is my day off so today is the last day of struggle for me. Tomorrow I have to suffer through an hour long massage (to get ready for faire of course ;D ) .
My friends and I love Sound and Fury, so we'll definitely stop by sometime. We'll be there every weekend though, so even if we don't make it this weekend we'll definitely be there other weekends... and I'll try to make it when I'm coming as QE1 since that really is only about 50-60% of the time.
Work today... :(
Pack the trailer and the truck tonight... :)
Work tomorrow... :(
Pick up Dillon at 4:30... :)
Go home, hitch up the trailer and head for TRF!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Yay, I'm going to meet the newest Landshark, Lady Ann! We'll be gathering at the PoW at noonish - don't forget your phins! I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin, I'm so anxious for Saturday to roll around!

Get up EARLY meet up with the sacrificial ren virgin we're bringing, and caravan to faire! we should be in camp before noon! Tomorrow!
Will anyone be selling R/F pins at POW this weekend or any other weekend?
You can only get RF pins from DeadBishop. There are ordering instructions in either Squires Tavern or Mundane Topics, or something like that. I'm sure some nice Rennie with nothing else better to do would be more than happy to provide the link LOL.

The only way you might could get one at TRF was if someone had some extras and they were willing to sell you (or give you) one of theirs...
I will be there but not at noon on Sat. Going to the Kings Feast with friends. See you all at Gate- or POW on Sunday- or you can catch me somewhere around the faire! I rarely stay in one place for long!
POOF!
Ahahah, thankfully, class ended as the person scheduled right before me finished, so i get to have the weekend to continue preparing for the Speech i have to give.... but I doubt that i will be doing any preparing this weekend at fair.
One more day! ;D
My countdown to TRF is at a year now. :'( I made it down there for the previous 5 years and just cannot swing it this year due to buying a house in the next month. I will miss hanging out to the Sea Devil with all my crazy TX folk.
i am sitting at home and waiting for tomorrow.
Bags are loaded.
Garb is loaded.
Tent/camping gear is loaded.
Loki is loaded.
Car is loaded and ready to go.
Teach is getting loaded...
*with rum of course*
According to the time on my mobile phone, more accurate than the computer:
1 day 9 hours, 7 minutes
I'm pretty much ready. Being local to TRF (well, near southwest part of Houston is "local" compared to the people coming in from e.g. Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, or points beyond) I pretty much only have to pack a fanny pack and make sure I have my ticket, cash, gas in the car, and my itinerary and a map of the grounds (the latter of which I'll print out again since last year's copy is not in a usable condition now; a copy of the official program is simply not in the budget and I probably will not need it).
Man this sucks.
Went to bed at 2330, set the alarm for 0600, and woke up at 0400.....
Wondering if it's faire related.....

Well, I've made my presence at work, you think they'd notice if I snuck out...oh, I have a meeting at 8, then one right after...feh.
I'm off at 11:00 on Fridays, fortunately, and this afternoon will be a mad scramble to finish last minute preps.

I was totally restless too last night... and I wasn't able to get to bed until much later than I should have... guess I'll just have to push it hard this weekend to not get sleepy!!
Okay, so I'm up and getting the vehicles packed and ready to go.. we should be out there by noon if all plans go as desired.
24 hours 17 minutes to cannon (sorry Tipsy Gypsy, cannon is at 9:00 not a 8:00 :) )
Our tickets showed up yesterday....46 days until the road trip starts... ;D 8)
I have to sit thru another 6 hrs of work.. I've already passed a whole hr thus far on here and emailing... so that's good. Now I need to at least "look" productive for another 6 hrs and I'm FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got to go pick of Rachie downtown and then we'll be heading up 59 and out of Houston.... We will be there tonight probably around 5 or 6. At which point we'll unpack, of course, and then dress in our gypsy garb and come out to play.... We're startin' early tonight for sure!!! Can't wait to give all my dear friends big hugs!
I really don't know how I am going to get thru the next 6 hours and 40 minutes of work...I want to be going to the TRF campgrounds RIGHT NOW! :(

Have a fabulous opening weekend everyone!! I am so renvious!!!!
MeowMobile is mostly packed, cat boxes cleaned and plants watered. I will leave for my Motel this afternoon! See you all bright and early tomorrow. Huzzah to TRF! It is finally almost here! Doing the happy packing dance!
Seriously... you had to be evicted this morning? Really?
ok... be there in a bit
Helped them get their stuff out and now finishing up to leave for faire
*rum is ready to go!*
Wow, the fair is so close now! I was just thinking, I have NEVER been to the first weekend of TRF. 2006 (my first year) I was not really into going to TRF due to other issues, but wound up going every weekend from 3rd till closing, and last season (2007) I was in California for my cousins baby shower on 1st weekend.
Ah! I am so excited. I get to be there at 6 PM on Friday! rather than getting there about 3-6 AM Saturday morning due to work being an issue.
I look forward to seeing u again Element of Air!! We'll be getting there around 5 or 6 tonight too!! I'm not sure where we'll start with our "walk about", but hopefully we'll run into each other at some point tonight!
YAY! I have missed the two of you! You are both such fun! :)
yay for Arrival sisters! (getting to camp at the same time)
;D :D
Just got off the phone with Meg (Elo) and she is in Huntsville!!!! She has made pretty good time getting down here, lol! Think she's excited????? :o ;D
I will be up at the McLotofus campsite at about 1:30! See you all there later this afternoon!
THe McLotofus camp area is definetely on the top of my list to visit this evening. Have tons of friends over there and so will hopefully see ya tonight Bonny Pearl and Meg too!!
Is it really...
20 hours, 10 minutes
until cannon?
Looking forward to a totally rockin' day tomorrow. I need it after a mundane-life debacle of last night.
Two more hours and I'm outta here!!! ;D
