Title: God Save The Queen...
Post by: BubbleWright on August 15, 2009, 09:27:25 PM
It is common knowledge that Kelly Morris, as Queen Elizabeth, took the PaRenFaire by storm last year. She is a consummate actress, a competent musician, and an excellent singer and dancer. The patrons and playtrons were quite pleased when it was announced she would return this year as Queen. I saw a side of Kelly today that totally outshines the work she has done on the Shire.

Besides the set pieces the Queen does, such as Queen's Court and Finale in Song, she also moves about the Shire to meet and greet Her people. She came upon four persons in wheel chairs, all of extremely limited mental capacity. These were people most others would shun and avoid looking upon. In another time they might have been left to die after being born. But Good Queen Bess crouched down in front of each of them to catch their attention, held their hand, and spoke to them as if they were best friends. This was not an actress playing a part but Kelly reaching out with great compassion and kindness to a less endowed human being. I'm sure at some level Kelly touched their spirit. This is the most extraordinary happening I have ever witnessed in all my years of attending RenFaires . I was humbled and edified. What left to say except "God Save The Queen... and Bless Kelly Morris!!!!"

I agree completely.  We saw quite a lot of the Queen today, and stopped just to watch her interact with everyone.  She is truly a beautiful person both inside and out.

That just brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful story. This year was my first year there and I am from PA. York to be exact. I now live in DC for the past 16 years. I had a wonderful time and loved every bit of it. I did get a picture of Queen Bess as she was walking the Shire. This was on Sunday opening weekend. Follow the link for more pictures

We were at PARF on Saturday Aug. 29. 2009. This is our fourth Faire this year. The Queen (Kelly Morris) is by far the best we have seen. We had a fabulous time. The finale was great. The Queen's singing was a special treat. We can't return this year but, We will definitely be there in 2010. God Save The Queen

Indeed God Save The Queen. As I have said before even though I have never met Kelly before she definitely sounds like an awesome person with such a huge heart. PARF is very lucky to have a queen like her.

I would offer 'stunning (http://"http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30150254&l=5a93132872&id=1370698159")' as my adjective.
