For those of you who know what the Hamster Invasion is about...
There will be happiness spreading to Pittsburgh. Any requests to the Hamster King should be posted here by the 20th. We will have an agent in the area. All requests subject to royal approval.
Huzzah for Festival!
Hail and well-met, Oh Great Hamster King. Allow me to be the first from Morelandshire to offer you and the wee hamsters greetings from our fair shire. With greatest respect do I come before you this day to request that one of your hamster bairns be placed in my loving care. 'Twas by my daughter's sad tale that many at CoRF offered little hamster prayers and condolences, and that Hey– Arent You placed Marley upon his shoulder at CORF, in memory of our departed furry friend. For the many kind words and gestures I am eternally grateful.
My request may be a bit late ~ I have been overwhelmed with summer class work ~ but 'twould be my great honor to now be charged with the care of one of Marley's cousins. I look forward to soon making the acquaintance of the Hamster Ambassador, and shall wait with much anticipation ~ and bountiful supply of hamster treats ~ to learn of the Hamster King's determination of my worthiness of such a distinguished assignment.
Hamster Blessings to you and our CoRFian family,
Anne

Lol thank you Scarlett, I wanted to ask myself but you've beaten me to it.
I've alerted the Hamster King and the RHAA, so I'm sure that someone will........... LOLOL.... ::) :D
and if someone doesn't...... I'll be back...... 8)
Ah well to fill you in on the hamster happiness...
Long ago in a forum not so far away... there were members who would break the rules of the forums and become overly negative with the written word. Sometimes it was just to pick on other ren folk, or to complain very harshly about the faire or even worse yet... politics. (Hope you all have not read that word and ran away screaming in terror.)
The Hamster King would drop in and out of the blue say something about hamsters. Kind of like changing the conversation with questions about the weather or football. Afterall... what really could be negative about hamsters. The Hamster King would do this for years in many of the forums. One day, it caught on and now the hamster invasion will happen on a thread by others who like to change the subject when it gets to negative.
Hamster happiness even spread to so that it had it's own thread. CORF is where the most hamster activity has abounded, but it is not contained there. R/F members started to show their support by wearing hamsters to festival. There were even small close pins with hamsters painted on them that started appearing. Then there were requests to the Hamster King for people to be able to adopt the cute little joys. All in support of spreading tranquility.
It has abounded from the midwest to California, and now the east coast. Can anyone get one? Not all requests have been honored as hamsters do not thrive in negative atmospheres.

...to learn of the Hamster King's determination of my worthiness of such a distinguished assignment.
Hail fair Anne of Oaktower, Protector of Chipmunks,
Thy boon to the Hamster King has been heard and thy wish has been granted.
A small litter of furry happiness will be escorted to Morelandshire by Mistress Charlotte, the Duchess of the Delicate Delightful Daub and Dab. Me thinks that thou art acquainted with her and shall find her in the About Face Painting Shoppe in Morelandshire. She will assist thee in the adoption process and in finding one that is best suited for thee. The honorable Hamster Ambassador Giselle will also be there in attendance.
The King also wishes to bestow a title to thee as thou art the first in Morelandshire to be found worthy of a heartening hamster. Thy title is yet to be discerned, but thou shalt have one none the less.
Blessings to thee,
Mistress Workinprogress of the Royal Hamster Adoption Agency
I would like to petition the Most Wondrous Hamster King to please consider placing one of the dear little creatures in my care. It would remind me of my dear departed Pookey who traveled 3,000 miles with myself and my spouse in our carriage as we journeyed from the other end of the country. Although he left out earthly plane many years ago, I still recall my first pet as a married with fond memories.
I promise to keep him or her quite safe from inquiring Wheaten Terrier noses and cherish this little one. Only the best of food and he will sleep on a silken comforter and accompany me to the Faire as I make my rounds and have an excellent view of the joust and even be up on the parapet with me, being treated as a Royal Hamster.
Humbly,
Margaret Tudor, Queen of Scotland and the Isles
Hail Margaret Tudor Queen of Scotland and the Isles, Countess Westmoreland, the great Squirrel Whisperer and keeper of the royal Wheaton Terriers,
Thy boon to the Hamster King has been heard and thy wish has been granted.
Mistress Charlotte, the Duchess of the Delicate Delightful Daub & Dab will be escorting a small litter of furry happiness to Morelandshire. As she is the prioress of the About Face Painting Shoppe, she will possibly be unable to wander about the kingdom. If thou wouldst bring thyself to her most humble shoppe, she would most humbly present thee with a hamster befitting one as Majestic as thyself.
We of the Hamster Kingdom are greatly honored by the privilege to bestow a humble hamster upon thee.
Blessings to thee,
Mistress Workinprogress of the Royal Hamster Adoption Agency
Hail Mistress Scarlett of the Royal Tailgate and devourer of Mimosas,
Thy boon to the Hamster King has been heard and thy wish has been granted. Thy postings hath proven thee to be of a truly sanguine nature and one who would nurture a furry friend.
If thou wouldst truly like one of our heartening hamsters, please present thyself to Mistress Charlotte, the Duchess of the Delicate Delightful Daub & Dab. She is the prioress of the About face Painting Shoppe in Morelandshire. She will assist thee in finding a hamster suited to thy Mimosa loving antics. (although please remember, hamsters are featherweights and should be restricted to 1/2 a tumbler.) ::)
Blessings to thee,
Mistress Workinprogress of the Royal Hamster Adoption Agency
I am truly beside myself with joy. I simply cannot wait to meet my wee charge. I know Mistress Charlotte quite well and was already awaiting her arrival in our shire. Your news has made me even more thrilled and I am impatient for the time to pass when I may once again gaze upon her visage and greet her as a true cousin.
Margaret

If I may be so bold as to suggest, considering our fair Anne of Oaktower has served me well on the Morgans Bounty crew... she makes a fine Keeper of the Keys and I'm thinkin' ye may like to be lockin' up these hamster critters to guard them from any pirating..... of course there are no pirates in Pittsburgh now... so probably not a problem.

You are safe as long as Capt Spleen doesn't roll over 'em with his pilfered cage wheel. Of course, one hamster did leap from its pouch during the middle of faire one day (we think) never to be seen again... :(
Spleen? Ha! rarely seen in these parts... doubtin' a hamster'd be enough fer him ennyway! ;)

lol- true, true, but he might make it there one weekend!
While they are in the confines of our dearest shire, please make well known that they will be under the watchful eye of the Lord Mayor himself. If he can do anything to make their visit to our fair Morelandshire better, please do not hesitate to ask!!
Well, now that you mention it....the hamsters would like their own viewing stand at the joust, a hamster wheel in the shady glen (but not too near the Washing Well Wenches, cuz they don't get along well with Mr. Wet'ums),and free hamster treats.
Oh, yeah...and flushies ;D

No Pirates... Oh this is a sad day. For I do know that one of the litter that have made their way to Morelandshire drank a wee bit too much rum and now bears an eye patch. (there is one in every bunch you know). He will surely be disappointed not to get a piratical home. Maybe he will change his story as to why he bears an eye patch and hang out with a Cardinal or something.
Dearest Hamster King,
I have arrived safely to the community of Moreland Shire. Please be advised that I have contacted the proper authorities to open the Hamster adoption agency within this community. I have placed my license to grant adoptions along side my license to practice the art of face painting. So no worries. All legalities have been taken care of. As for the Hamsters, all 6 have survived the journey from Larkspurshire to Morelandshire without scathe. During the journey I took the liberty to wean and potty train all of them. They are all eating solid food now, and I feel that they will be ready for adoption by Saturday August 29th.

Mistress Charlotte
Do forgive me, but Saturday I was only able to take a ten minute break in the back of our kitchen and I had not been here to read that my request had been granted so I didn't know thou was waiting for me today.
I will most definitely see you next Saturday as I am in very early (8am) and will stop by to see thee for certain!

The Hamster king has granted a title.
Anne of Oaktower, Countess and Conciliate Custodian of Keys, Chipmunks and Comeliness.
May thy sweet presence be an ever pleasant addition to the kingdom and a blessing to Morelandshire.
Greetings Unto the Hamster King,
I too would beg a boon of bestowment of a Hamster bairn from thee. I am a frequent visitor to Morlandshire and hope someday to move there permantly(or at least 6 weekends a year). As it is I now I watch over Groundhogs. Perhaps you have heard of the famous Punxsutawney Phil? Phil is a sweet critter and his stump is across the valley from me, his bretheren are residing in various burrows surrounding my shady property. A Hamster would be great company to me as I watch over his larger cousins. If Refrences are needed Mistress Charlotte, Duchess of the Delicate Delightful Daub and Dab and Anne of Oaktower, Countess and Conciliate Custodian of Keys, Chipmunks and Comeliness both doth know me well.
Your Humble Servant,
Tia
Hail TiaLD77, Mistress of the Thingamabobs and Doflickies, Overseer of Groundhogs,
Thy boon to the Hamster King has been heard and thy wish has been granted.
One of our heartening little bairn shall be awaiting thy arrival at the shoppe 'About Face Painting". Upon thy arrival, please attend Mistress Charlotte, Duchess of the Delicate Delightful Daub and Dab of whom thou art acquainted. She shall bestow upon thee the wee prize thou didst ask for. Do ask her for one that does not squeak much, as Caleb, does not need a chatty sibling.
Blessings to thee,
Mistress Workinprogress of the Royal hamster Adoption Agency
I did promise that I would indeed give a full report of the wee bairn's day at Faire. He was adopted by myself early on Saturday morn, a dear little spotted fellow. Our bratty Crown Prince immediately decreed that his name would be Aardvark. And, if one doesn't give in to him, he does stamp his feet, yell and create a scene. However, he is called by his middle name of Arthur.
Arthur spent the day meeting folk, attending the joust and even greeting guests from the top of the parapet. He caused no problems, rode quietly in the pocket of my underskirt and was quite contented, even merry. He even managed to stay dry in the sudden downpour we experienced. He returned again on Sunday, a much nicer day, attended the joust yet again, the parapet and even said Hello to the fellow Skidmark.
I have commissioned a pearled collar for him to wear so as to match my many pearls. Already I am very attached to him. Thank You, kind and gracious Hamster King for allowing me to adopt this precious wee one.
Yours in Hamsterdom,
Margaret Tudor

Fear not, for this sweet toothed dessert maker indeed has a taste for rum and has thus chosen to adopt thy wee pirate. We spent a lovely meal down at the Pirate's Pub Saturday and then we happened upon a former coworker of mine on our way back up to the Royal Kitchens.
We are still working out a name for the wee one that is suitable, as I fell ill Sunday morning and have been in bed since up until now to rest. I shall keep thee all posted once a name has been chosen. :)

Greetings Margaret Tudor Queen of Scotland, Countess Westmorland, Great Squirrel Whisperer and Keeper of the Royal Wheaton Terriers,
The Hamster King is pleased by thy report upon Aardvark Arthur's new adventure. Much more it doth please the King to know the joust in the Kingdom is frequented by thee and Arthur. It has been chronicled, that once upon a time there were hamsters, who greatly appreciated the joust, and in their enthusiasm tried to figure out ways to participated upon the field. Although the passion for participation in said revelries has quieted, it is believed that hamsters even upon this day do seek ideas on the dynamics of the lance and horse. Do not be surprised if in his enthusiasm, Arthur doth leap for joy and have to be restrained.
It is an honor to have one of our heartening hamsters chosen to be adopted into the Royal family. Huzzah for thee and thy warm and welcoming home.
