Title: Terrible news.
Post by: Lady Neysa on September 11, 2009, 09:40:52 PM
My sister Shannon just found out today that her 5 week old baby, Trent, has Cystic Fibrosis.  I don't know anything about this disease and I'm really scared for them.  She is putting on a brave face, bit I know she must be devastated. The baby isn't even showing any strange symptoms or anything.  They'll learn more when they take him to A.I. Dupont Childrens hospital on Wed.  I feel angry and helpless, and don't know what to do for them, other than be there for them.  Whatever form it takes,  would you please pray for this innocent baby?

I will keep you in my prayers, my nephew has cf,
and it is a difficult road. There is a lot of info out
there, and good support groups, your sister should
get in one.

for what its worth, the most difficult part for
my nephew seems to be keeping his weight up, he
will get hospitalized to get his weight up, gain
some weight get to feeling better, go home and
burn up all the weight he gained playing, he's
prolly the most joyful kid I know for all he's gone
through.

May Trent be blessed, and grow strong, may peace
be upon you and your family.

I will keep baby Trent and your whole family in my thoughts and prayers, and send all healing energy along, as well.  May you and yours find peace and joy in these trying times, and experience the miracles that happen when least expected.

Neysa I'm so sorry. I did some reading on the disease, just because I knew little about it as well.

I do read they've come leaps and bounds with managing this disease. Those with Cystic Fibrosis are living well into their adulthood and who knows what new breakthroughs they'll have in the next few years.

Perhaps too, Trents path is one that will bring awareness to those who suffer with this. Perhaps he'll bring those miracles you look for.

Big hug for you and prayers of strength going out for Trent and his family.
