"Pirates 4 will once again center on Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Co., this time as they search for the fabled Fountain of Youth. At the same time, a "Captain Nemo" style villain outfitted with advanced (for pirate times) technology tries to beat them to the punch."

I'm still waiting for my friend inside the Mouse House to comment on this. Last word was that NO work has been done on this yet, but things change.
If it is true, think of the rousing games of Slap Jack your crew will get to play!
Looks like the story has legs. The release is set for Summer, 2011. No word on the plot as of yet, but the name is going to be "On Stranger Tides". Johnny Depp was at the Disney presentation, in Jack Sparrow costume and character, asking if anyone had seen a talking frog. One would expect nothing less. ;D
I sincerely hope they stay away from the Steampunk stuff. The fish people were silly enough. ::)
Let the speculation begin.

Well, not so fast, buckaroos... ::)

Apparently Depp is very upset and not sure about doing the next film now.

I don't know... better a Captain Nemo-like character than a talking frog. I could see maybe introducing the person who created Jack's magic compass, or the spinning map from POTC3...

Geoffrey Rush tells MTV News (http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/09/23/exclusive-geoffrey-rush-says-hes-planning-to-shoot-pirates-of-the-caribbean-on-stranger-tides-in-the-spring/"%20rel=nofollow%20external) that he's ready to get back to work as Captain Barbosa in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/15236/rush-on-fourth-pirates-status#"%20rel=nofollow%20external), the fourth adventure in the series which kicks off shooting in Spring.
"They're waiting for the screenplay writers to put together something that's beyond the trilogy, take it off into a new direction so that it's fresh and hopefully really interesting for an audience, that they're not going to just sausage-machine out something else, which wouldn't be so good" says Rush who jokingly admits neither the studio or prodder Jerry Bruckheimer(http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/1606_magglass.gif) (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/15236/rush-on-fourth-pirates-status#"%20rel=nofollow%20external) haven't been in touch with him about it.
The recent departure of Disney (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/15236/rush-on-fourth-pirates-status#"%20rel=nofollow%20external) exec richard Cook has left many questioning about the future of the project, but for now everything seems to be full steam ahead.
Maybe Disney should replace Jack Sparrow with Mad Jack Wolf?

He'd be a natural!
And why stop at one? Throw in a Jib, too!
Course, maybe they'd have to chang the name to Pirates of the "Why the heck do we live in this frozen wasteland?"
Ooo, not good, title too long. :D
Noble Dreg can be the Quartermaster and I say Nyte and MG can be the 'wenches of the port.'
Call it Pirates of the Willing Soles!
Tag line: They may not fight so good, but look at their footwear!

I love you, man! ;D
Hey, Wenchie! Maybe we should try selling them on a script? I know just the story! ;)
