Title: Recommendations, Please.
Post by: Rin on September 17, 2009, 12:05:36 PM
I was thinking about buying either fairy-ish or gypsy garb, but I've not seen anything that impresses me at the local faires... or at least nothing that is what I was looking for or in the right colours. So I've decided to take advantage of the technological age we live in and order something off the internet for the first time.
What I would love to have advice on is what are good quality places to buy from.. One place I was looking at in particular was Moresca Clothing and Costume. Does anyone know if their garb is of good quality or if their corsets/bodices are steel boned..? I refuse to spend upwards on 200 dollars on one article of clothing and end up with with flimsy boning.
I would really appreciate the opinions of people that have done business with them or anyone that can recommend good places to get the types of garb I'm looking for.. Price is not an issue!

Thank you very much!

Rin

Moresca is a great place to buy clothing from.  Although I have yet to buy one of their bodices and couldnt tell you about that.  But there are other topics in the forum that talk about them and what not.  Best of luck on finding garb to fit your likes.

While Moresca is great, you can also spot their stuff a mile away. Not a problem with that, but if you want something original and for only a little more, I'd go custom with Kathleen. Not only do I have a gown of hers, but I've seen her work (in all styles, not just noble) and it always looks stunning.

I second that.  And her forum name is Lady Kathleen of Olmsted, so you can renmail her.

Mayfaire Moon corsets are really popular around here and always seem well-made. I know they do custom work but if I remember correctly, they are pricy. I believe their website is http://www.mayfairemoon.com/ .
