Title: Need ideas for pants/breeches cuffs
Post by: gem on September 26, 2009, 08:43:32 PM
I bought a pair of striped corduroy breeches today from Scots Lion, but they're just a little too short to tuck into my almost-knee-high boots.  Right now they have a casing with elastic.  I'd like to add a longer cuff of something (either brown twill or black corduroy; whatever I find in my stash) them, just to give them a little more needed length.  But I'm not exactly sure how to go about it.  I'm sure it would be easy--anyone have suggestions?

gem!!

Take apart the elastic casing. What fabric is there, press it so that it can be either regathered or pleated into a new leg band.

To make a longer leg band, determine the length and color you want to make it based on your knee and calf measurement. Cut a lining as well. The outside seam can have an opening were you can sew several clasps on each side.

Hope this idea helps.
