Title: Oct 2nd
Post by: rengypsy on September 27, 2009, 05:58:51 PM
today was a great day at sherwood.

several folk building on their booths.

eight or ten came to help us sow rye grass seeds across the grounds.  we have now put out 20 fifty pound bags.

some picked up more sticks and put them to fire.

we are gonna plan another outing for next sunday to complete the sowing of rye (i think we need about 15 more bags to be thrown to the wind to get a good covering for winter and spring.)

we will also be working on the grounds -- one more picking up of limbs, sticks and the like before texas renaissance starts on october 10th.

we will start fairly early--around 9am.  some of us will likely camp saturday nite.  join us if ya want.  would love to have a drummer or two for saturday evening.  a norther is suppose to come thru thursday and friday, so the lows on saturday nite will be in mid to low 60s.

we so appreciate your help.  you are making sherwood a success!!!

we need a good turn out of folk who will help cutting roots and picking up sticks to place on a burn pile this sunday.

we have prepared about 1/10th of the grounds.

lots more to clear of roots protruding from the dirt.

also, we will be spreading another 15-20 50# bags of rye grass seed that morning.  very earthy and natural. a couple of folk suggested getting a spreader, but i really like the earth-connectedness of just throwing seed in the air by hand and knowing it was done that way for eons and eons...

come plant sherwood with us this sunday morning.
