What to do and what not to do?
Does anyone have a list of the what to take to fair with a new baby ( 2 months old ).
What should baby wear at TRF?
Hat no Hat ?
My kids were more comfortable in modern clothes (at least under the garb). I just dressed mine in solid colored cotton onsies at that age.
Definately hat, if the baby will wear one, or some kind of sun shade.
go with what is easy! :) onesies are great. i saw a cute little iron on at hobby lobby that was piratey, said something like 'aargg wipe me booty' lol.
traditionally it is pretty darn warm opening weekend as you know so onesies, umbrella/shade if bringing a stroller. your little one is really at a pretty easy stage right now since eating and sleeping is all they are interested in at 2 months. next year will be a whole other ball game lol!
As an FYI, weather predictions by those who know what they are talking about (i.e., not the local weatherman) are for one helluva brutally cold winter, possibly kicking in by early Nov, so plan accordingly. Traditionally, infants were usually swaddled in a big cloth- sort of a medieval onesy- and carried in a sling, which would be pretty easy and comfortable with a few tweaks.
Well, i guess it would depend on the weather. In warm weather, I put mine in simple white chemises with biggins-style hats, and brought a couple of mundane outfits to wear after the inevitable "accident". For cooler weather I added cotton tights and booties and made a couple of solid-colored fleece tunics to go over the chemise. He's little enough he'd probably like to be swaddled as well, weather permitting. However, if you'd rather just have him wear mundanes, go for it. Life with a new baby is stressful enough without over-complicating it. No one will mind that the baby's in 'danes. ;)
2 months is probably too young for sunscreen, so make sure to use a stroller with a canopy, and bring an extra blanket to shield him from the sun.
If he doesn't like to be put down and you don't think he'll be content to spend a lot of time in the stroller, you might want to consider bringing along a sling or Baby Bjorn or something, and get him used to it before faire. That way he can be snuggled up close to you, and your hands will still be free. Don't plan on using the carrier exclusively, though. Bring the stroller too. Even an 8-pound baby can get pretty heavy after a while.
Of course you'll want diapers, wipes, etc., bottles of formula and ice packs if you use it, and extra water for mama if you're nursing. Basically the stuff you'd want for any day-long outing. I've always found newborns to be pretty portable, and quite a bit easier than going out with a toddler. Bonny's right, he's mostly gonna want to eat and sleep, won't really get bored, and won't ask you to buy him every toy he sees! ;)
Lady Kat, I suggest getting a fan like below and when you can, rig it on the stroller or a table to cool the little one off periodically. The bottom has a really strong magnet thingy that helps with that. I've had several different kinds, but this one is the best by far. We use it at camp, I use it on my patio where there are no plugs for a regular fan, and we've recharged Kirby's I-Pod on it. The battery pack can run/charge anything that has a car battery adapter.

But the toddler stage is a lot of fun too. Ours is 3 now and faire really became fun for her last year when she could play with the faeries.
We don't have the money yet for a little fan yet if anyone has one they don't need any more it would be helpful. I am trying to get everything together still need to get a rain cover for the stroller. Went out to TRF today and it started to rain i had him in his sling for 4 hours he is getting heavy.

My little Dorian is all mommy mommy hold me right now.
We went to the Doc today and he got his shots and he is now 22 1/2 inch and he is 10lb 6.5 oz my big boy.
we got a new tent and a fan but we still need a heater for when it get's cold.

Not much different. Stock up on diapers and wipes. We usually bring an entire bag of diapers with us. Ours sleeps in between us on the air mattress so no extra bedding is required. At Dorians age he doesn't need his own camping gear yet. Later you'll want to get him his own chair to sit with everyone. We used a bumbo chair for our girl when she was tiny. We could sit her just about anywhere in it. Thats probably the most useful thing to have.
