Title: German Oktoberfest, Weekend 1, October 10-11
Post by: Morrigan on October 06, 2009, 01:15:45 PM
Yep, it's that time again!   Come celebrate all things German with us!

As in previous years, we have theme-related contests throughout the day.   The winner receives season tickets to next year's festival!

11:00am - Polka Dancing Contest
Revels Stage area - (this is not a fixed stage, it is the area near the front gate where we hold the proclamations and revels)

2:00pm - Yodelling Contest
Revels Stage area

4:00pm - Bratwurst Eating Contest
Revels Stage area

*** Please note, these contests are open to patrons only!   This means that if you or an immediate family member is employed or engaged in ANY capacity with TRF or one of its vendors (even if you are just walking parade for a pass or comps), or if you have a TRF pass for any other reason, you are not eligible to compete in the contests.  Thank you for your understanding and support.    Later in the season, there are some contests that are specifically open to employees and vendors.

Don't be late!!

See you all Saturday!!!!!

Is there any chance of starting the pre show a little earlier, say 7:45 for those of us who don't want to wait?  No, I didn't think so...

I remember the good old days when a piper would play from the roof of the main gate, drawing people in from the parking lots.  A good piper can make your day.  A bad piper may get arrested for trying to kill a cat.
