Hmmm ... and he didn't even wear a fancy captain's coat and bucket boots ... or a kilt.
Put a pirate in a kilt, have the ladies get in on the voting, and we are likely to see entirely different results.
All joking aside ... I can't argue against Blackbeard as the greatest pirate of all time ... although he didn't get a Rum named after him ...
I'm not surprised Blackbeard won the popular vote. But when it comes to a highly successful, incredibly feared, and just plain off the hook psychotic pirate, Black Bart Roberts gets my vote. Besides, he was Welsh, and I have a soft spot for the Welsh. ;D
