Title: Opening Weekend Recap
Post by: eloquentXI on October 11, 2009, 08:20:42 PM
Hey all! Got back in to Denton just a few minutes ago and phew, what a weekend to say the least!

From the rain that started on Friday morning and didn't stop until Friday night, the beautifully cool almost chilly weather Saturday, to Martin cutting his face open on his bonfire plate thing (He's fine right now, had to go to the hospital to get stitches but came back to camp before late), to drive-by wretching that night, the Jaager Bomb Squad in full force, and then a rainy and chilly Sunday.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, even with it being so eventful! It was so wonderful to see who I did, and made me miss the people that weren't there even more so.

Can't wait to see everyone on All Hallows Eve!

MM, i'm glad that you are ok... Rapier & CR are good people, so you were in good hands.  I'm not going to comment about the phone call i received in the later hours of the evening, Friday night, other than it sounded like my fellow McLotofus members were having an extremely good time... and i got to play "phone ho", getting passed around the Elders Circle... LMAO!

A COOL opening weekend!!!  Oh, was it nice to wear the full garb and be comfortable, not heat-sick!  CDragonworks and I spent the weekend getting her acquainted with the notion of being able to play (she's not working at RenBoots this year).  Saw so many people that I think I must be thinner from all the hugs.  Look for my evil twin (and Lawrence's too) on third weekend.  The pirates will be dropping anchor and look forward to seeing everyone.

Just remember, Dear One...  Chicks dig scars!!!  Especially if there is a Tale of Great Bravery and Sacrifice to be told about the acquisition of said scar!!!  Doesn't even matter if it's true or not.  In fact, I'm guessing that with Rennie women, the more outlandish the tale (or tales...) and the more it changes with each re-telling, the more they will relish it!!!

Can hardly wait to sit by the fire and hear the embellished version, myself!!!  :D  ;)

I have not noticed this to be true.  Of course, maybe it is the unvarnished truth of how I got some of them..."My brother hit me with an axe, My brother kicked a brick into my head, My brother... "  I sense a pattern here.  Anyone want an older brother?  I may offer you mine cheap.

I want to thank everyone (cast and friends) who met my parents visit to fair on Saturday a great one. They had so much fun and completely approve of me going to fair as well as they would love to go again when they are back out visiting me from California. They felt everyone was so nice and open. My dad even got wenched on his bald head within the first 15 feet of him entering fair.

I had so much fun with my parents and I just want to say thank you to everyone for helping make my parents first fair visit a great one...

And, my feet HURT! ^_^ See everyone next weekend!

Feh, brothers have nothing on sisters.  This scar on my lip - sis pushed a hot curler into my mouth.  This one on my chin - sis knocked me down - accidentally, of course.  Martin, I'm so glad it wasn't any worse than it was.

It was a grand day at the faire!  It was so good seeing familiar faces and actually remembering some of them.  I have some pictures to download - how good they'll be is anybody's bet as it was so dark & overcast, but it was so nice not to be on the verge of a heatstroke all day.  I got a kick out of Elo standing on the pickanick table snapping pix and her skirt being held by a chivalrous gentleman so that she wouldn't topple off.

I'll be back on 10/25 & will be there with some of my fellow pirate authors on the greenway betwixt the PoW & the book store for a book signing.  Come say hello & maybe even buy a book!

Perhaps if you were to "embellish" those tales a bit, and make your heroism far more prominent, then the chicks would swoon at your bravery, good Sir Knight!  Particularly if you could somehow work in that if it were not for the courage of your Trusty Steed, SM, you would surely have Perished from the Foul Misdeeds of that band of Peep Infiltrators... or, you know, sumthin' like that...  :D

we had a great time- i am so thankful that the weather decided to cooperate (for me, anything under 80 degrees is cooperation!)

Camped with KP and his group of awesomes at Clan Procrastination, debuted the faerie costume, made steals in shopping (anyone else notice prices seemed REALLY reasonable this year?)

Cant wait to go back out!!! I should have my pictures done tonight... i just wish i could wave a magic wand and take all the 'danes out....

In the dark, Martin stepped on a beer bottle that had been left laying on the ground by some careless person. It rolled under his foot and he went crashing down, chin first into the edge of a steel plate. It left two bad gashes between his lower lip and chin. Two inches lower and he could have lost his life.

Hopefully there won't be any more careless people in camp from now on!!!  We're all supposed to be looking out for each other, and not leaving loose beer bottles laying around on the ground!  I hope this will make people think a bit...

First off i want to apologize for not making it to the meet and greet. I will be at the Hallows eve one for sure. I think the Greenman might make an appearance that weekend. I cant remember the photography place thats right by the candle shop but me and the wife are having our pictures done there that weekend. ANYWHO Other than finding out we spent 255 bucks for a tent that has half with floor and the other half without a floor ours was fine our little one had an awesome time as well as some faire virgins i brought with us. Saw Kats wee one VERY CUTE. My wife saw her in the parade and called her son a kitten i thought that was cute. Kat smiled away. :)

How was the new cleared off section by Row 0?  Were there a  lot of "ravers" out there?

I made it through my first weekend as a employee, felt strange not getting to play. I loved working it but missed walking it and shopping.
Did anyone see the young man dressed in full Natzi gear???
The employee restrooms/showers wheren't that clean either. What's with the freeze ya one second scald ya the next??? sheeshhh!!
My tent leaked( my fault) I had about three inches of water on the floor Friday night, wet beding and grumpy me. I need to learn how to stake a tent!
I met Kat not sure she knew me, she carried our store banner. Saw her beautiful baby.
Come by and introduce yourself!! I was alone and lonely...felt very isolated.
I am looking forward to this weekend, got my new wings and garland :)

The bottle was a stray in our camp. It's not that anyone was "careless", but these things just happen, especially when people are drinking around a fire. It could have just as easily have been a stick or a stump. Ok... so recap...

Get out to camp Thursday, rake and spread ant poison. Hear from hubby that the brakes have gone out on the car and that he's very carefully completing his journey to me. Realize that there are no real noms OR BEER, as the kitchen has yet to arrive, so go to sleep instead. Wake up at 6am to fend off intruders, and make a walkabout. Decide to start building the kitchen shelter. Look up at the sky at 9am, and haul butt to the tent. Spend the next hour braced up against the inside of the tent trying to keep the joints from snapping, still waiting for someone to come to camp. People start showing up, setting up, and we start drinking and having fun. Take Cat to the gate to meet up with Wine and Alchemy, and get an invite to come along. Go to dinner at the Magnolia Diner, thaw out, and get ready to have a great opening day. Get a call at midnight that tells me to come to the shop to do inventory. Get home to tent from inventory at 3am, wake up at 6am. Get ready, get food, go into the shop. Go to pick up my bracers, which I found out were NOT finished, and fell in love with the most awesome tail EVAR! Spend the day selling and walking parade. Get out by 9, head to camp for dinner and drinking. Head for showers at 11, then come back to camp to do more drinking and eating. Went on a walkabout with Cat, and went for a moonlight stroll with the Order of Culloden Moor. Went to bed, woke up at 7am. Ate bfast, got to the shop, opened up. Spent the day kinda wet, and really tired, but then was surprised that the people in my shop have gotten me the previously mentioned MOST AWESOME TAIL EVAR!!! Get out of the shop by 9, home by 10, dead asleep by 10:30.

What a damn weekend LOL, but memorable and fun!

I missed the meet-and-greet AND all the fun around campsite.  The three of us pretty much stayed local to our site, yelling at the teenagers walking THROUGH a heavily 'marked' (since we couldn't rope it off) campsite.  Do people not have a clue about campsite protocol, permission to enter or cross through, etc?  I felt like an old man, "Get off my damned lawn!"  Of course, rain didn't improve our spirits much, either.

Anyway...

I'll try to get back out for AHE, although I may have to come alone, and later Friday afternoon or evening.  At which point, I'll either request a land grab with McLotofus or camp in the quiet area.  :)

We had a good time regardless, and our Friday night version of Shepherd's Pie was phenomenal.  I'll have to keep that recipe in the ol' noggin for next time.  Pictures of the weekend from a trio of Scotsmen coming soon...

The Hubby and I made it Friday afternoon, FINALLY!
Set up camp in the cool, AAWWSSOOMMM, and drizzly weather!
YES, PERFICT!
All done we settled in until the KIDS got there!!!
FOUR, COUNT THEM FOUR, YES FOUR, not only Fest VIRGINS but also CAMPING virgins!!!
Disclaimer all over 21.  Only 2 cases of chain mail whiplash, TA DA!!
All survived the weekend.

Now to all the Loves and Wonders that I met (I am not good with names and believe it or not to I am to shy to walk up to the meet and greet, you would not think this once we have met!)
You each and everyone made it a LIFE CHANGING EXPERIACNE!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
We now have new Rennie's, before Saturday parade I was told that this would be an ongoing tradition, HUZZA!!
The sights the sounds, each one of the kids bought Cast in Bronze Cd's.
Cloaks, shoes, soaps, hair spirals, food, mugs, steins, goblets, vests, shirts, skirts and leggings pretty much ran the gambit of booths and shops.
Iris and Rose, Ded Bob, Jousting, Pickle vender's and more, never have the Hubby and I done so much in just two days.
Hope to see y'all Thanksgiving Friday!

We're not going to let out the secret!
The new area is wonderful. They left quite a few trees in place so it was still dripping when I pulled out at 13:30 today, but that's okay. No ravers were seen around our camp, to the point that we were the loudest camp in the area Saturday night when a wonderful couple of performers from Austin joined us for several hours. I think I can sum up the new area best just from an observation I made several times over the weekend. Even though the privies on our end were heavily used, they never were nasty.
But don't tell anyone we want to keep this our secret so it can stay as nice as it is.

Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday...even though it was cold and wet. Met Master Dorian and got to babysit him a little while...he is so precious! Sorry to have missed the meet and greet, but had to go to Procrastination's camp for b/day cake for my little one's first b/day. Am hoping to make it one more time this year, though not sure if we will be able to swing it financially or if we can find a ride...lol

Trillium...though you were a wet fae all day, you still looked beautiful.

Bellevivre...sorry to have missed you at camp, I think I saw you at some point, but by the time it registered in my frazzled brain that I recognized you had moved on...story of my life...he he he

Was also glad to finally get to meet everyone else...hope to be able to see everyone again soon.

Lets see. . .  arrived at camp around Row 0 Thursday night and set up new habitrail *giggle* in dark.  No ventilation, slept in front seat of truck with my fave CD in the background and my lovely man cuddled up next to me.  After talking with a late coming Z til well after 3 in the morning, slept about 4 hours.

Woke up Friday to rain and muck, made a dash to the tent inside the faire walls to unpack and cover tables, unload inventory and quickly secure everything against the never ending wet and muck.  Drove back into Houston to run a couple of errands, procure last minute forgotten supplies, and pick up tent from Z's which ended up saving our life.  Got back to camp and set up the tent in the dark with the help of Teach and Mac and Kris.  Lots of hugs and shared laughs that night, as well as some fabulous cabbage and beef rolls!

Spent the day Saturday as new vendors.  A bit of a rush that morning getting last minute things done, but the day was a smashing success.  Dont think we had a lull of more than 10 minutes all weekend!   Huzzah!  Had more fun with my parents and D than Ive had in well. . . forever!  Turned a fair bit of profit, and headed back to grounds to change.  Had a lovely dinner prepared by the wondrous Z and then went on a very amusing clan walkabout in which my lovely D got to sing "Im a Little Teapot" to several clan leaders, while tweaking his nipples at at least one clan!  He has a new faire name now, Tweak- Lord of the Nipples.  Had an absolute blast Sat night with Cynth and Mike playing guitar and the lovely Elaine dancing, while Mac was on the drums.  Met and hugged and laughed and just had a blast with our new clan family.

Sunday was more wet and cold, ended up having to run to the dreaded Wal Mart for meds and some extra towels.  Had another great day hawking and playing with all the wonderful people at faire, and saw many faces I hadnt yet seen on the circuit around faire mom and I made that afternoon.  Back at camp we discovered our bedding and everything else was soaked, so we said phoooooey and headed to a hotel in Magnolia.  Warmest part of my whole weekend!

Couldnt have had a better time Opening weekend with our new business venture and our new clan family.  Cant wait to see everyone again for Pirates Weekend!

Got to camp around 10:00 Friday morning.  There's a road over the wash right where we usually set up so we moved across the road next to Thorn.  Got one tent and our new 10x20 canopy set up before the deluge came. That canopy is worth every penny!  Had a quiet night, went to faire, and am so happy it didn't rain again until Sunday, of course when we were trying to pack!

All in all, it was a really good weekend and wonderful to see old friends, meet new ones, and generally wallow in excess.....i.e., too much beer, vodka, rum, too many cigs, up to late, tons of laughing, hugs, and kisses, good stories.  The only thing I didn't get enough of was rest, but of course I can rest when I'm dead!

The employee restrooms/showers wheren't that clean either. What's with the freeze ya one second scald ya the next??? sheeshhh!!
My tent leaked( my fault) I had about three inches of water on the floor Friday night, wet beding and grumpy me. I need to learn how to stake a tent!
Yes we saw the guy.
Yes we thought the portajohns were really messy this year, even in the back 40 behind the quickie mart.  I would like to know who's bright idea it was to go portajohn tipping. We woke up Saturday morning to find 1 of our John's tipped over.  Then on Sunday night some one tipped over the porta John's over behind the quickie mart.  I know it was raining hard on Sunday night  but I don't think the winds were THAT strong.

Our weekend was good.  We had to set up in the rain, but long live army surplus rain coats, and gumm boots!  Got our 2 10x20 canopy's up  put them side by side and using an extra side panel and some bungee's made rain gutters so we didn't have pooling water IN the canopy's.  My drinking and socializing was had that night. I actually slept well that night.  I got more sleep at camp than I did at home! Great day at the faire, and we met some of our freinds from here, but most didn't recognize us until they saw Jean Flamingo.
Saturday stayed for fireworks and had much fun.  Slept well again, strangely enough.  EXCEPT for the group who decided to shoot off fireworks in camp at 4:05 AM , our camp was not amused. We thought someone's propane tank had exploded until we heard the ooo' ah's and Hazzah's.   We were late getting to the faire because of the rain.  We brought garbage bags to sit on, and umbrellas. We saw shows and enjoyed our selves.  This time we walked up to chat with people we knew.  For some reason  those who didn't recognize us in our regular garb recognized us in our secondary garb, odd.  I did try to say hi to Blue a couple times but either she didn't hear me or didn't know who I was.  Oh well.
Returned to camp Sunday night before the fireworks to make heat up the home made chili.  Found out our tent leaked , but we had put all the bedding in the middle of the air mattress, and had laid a tarp over it.   We had a small puddle just inside our tent door, but everything else was dry.  Long live keeping stuff in tubs!
Was woken up at 4 AM to drops of rain splattering on my face. After a half hour gave up, packed up the interior of my tent.  Then went to our camps fire. An hour later fell asleep in my chair by the fire, woke up 3 hours later, and finished packing up the rest of camp.  Though DAMP it was a nice weekend for us.

The Rogue and I are going to try to come back last weekend.  We had too much fun this year to NOT go again.  We might need someone to stay with that weekend though.  :-\

We had left over alcohol none of us wanted to take home.  Nothing wrong with it, just didn't care for it.  We walked into a camp near by and said "Any one want free alcohol?!"  Yeah we were well liked. :)  Then again would you accept a guy dressed as a pink pirate?  ;D

OK so I didn't see the dude in Nazi gear, but my friend Demon, who dresses as one as well with wings and very scary looking!! Anyhow, he told me what he was going to do when he saw this guy.  He was going to walk up to the dude and get down in front of him like on his knees worshipping him and say something like "Wow, are you are real Nazi, I've heard so much about the evil your group does and I'm just in awe of it.  All the killing and mayhem your group caused is so impressive!!"  Or something like that, we were all playing off it and paraphrasing it, it was very funny and I really hope he got a chance to do it!!

He was dressed in a Nazi SS uniform, and yes, myself, Laird Daniel and both our wives saw him. Laird spotted him first and pointed him out to me, just as I was trying to figure out why he was dressed in an airline pilot uniform because my brain simply could not process what it was seeing. My very British wife, who's father served in the Royal Navy during WWII, was nearly beside herself, in seeing this person. I went directly to the Sheriffs deputy at the front gate, and was very curtly told that NOTHING could be done about it and that I should simply keep an open mind.

My open mind is still considering various forms of attrocity that could befall such an idiot.

Ummmm... wasn't it quite muddy, and extremely slippery in many places?  You know, muddy enough to "accidentally" obscure offensive insignia and such?

Or, barring that... I'd think that having enough mugs full of liquid spilled on one would cause an early withdrawal...  I'd sacrifice an ale or two to the cause.  ;)

I was even more offended by the fact that he decided to act stupid and didn't even bother to get a proper uniform. It was just something he put together with with a black jacket and sewn on wrist band that I didn't get close enough to read and a hackenkruez armband to offend people with. I didn't see the guy, my wife did, but didn't think enough of it to tell me till later.  I guess my interest and study of the history of that period sort of makes my response to such stuff less emotional. I'd wonder why anyone would wear any WWII era uniforms to a renfaire, but my annoyance would be about the same as when I saw the Teletubby.

Got to hand it to Hugo Boss, 70 years on and his designs still provoke a reaction!

I had a post here, but it disappeared!

Anyrate, sometimes people do things for attention. I didn't really pay much attention to that guy in the crappy WWII uniform that didn't look right and for which any right thinking officer of the organization he was trying to represent would have reprimanded him in a heartbeat. HAH - I can't believe I called one of those guys "right thinking." In any case, there are certain symbols in modern culture that cause a visceral response in people nowadays, whether it makes logical sense or not. That young, probably ignorant guy was just trying to cause a stir and succeeded.

The mud was bearable if you had friends to hug and booze to consume, or any of the many pleasures of faire to distract you. We just got done drying and brushing our tent so it can get dirty again AHE weekend. I've washed and febrezed every piece of garb, clothing, sleeping bag, and blanket to get the "campfire smell" out just so it can probably get infused once again! I need to buy more detergent, and I had to wash my hair three times... heheh. I forgot what it was like to go to faire with hair longer than my chin. Oh yeah, and our fold ing air mattress frame has begun to crumble but we're going to try to use it at least one more time.

Blue's tail was indeed the most awesome tail EVAR. I want to get Cliff to make me a green and orange one. Zaubon is the most awesome quartermaster ever! In the whole world! Martin is the most fun friend ever in the whole world, and I am sending him speedy recovery wishes. Teach and Trinn are the most awesome camp neighbors ever and Teach's shower thing is the most awesome shower thing EVAR! I could go on like this, but basically, it was a blast, and there were wonderful things, and not-so -wonderful things but you could ignore or deal with the latter because it was FAIRE! YAY FAIRE!

I don't offend easily. I do, however, believe that sometimes a brick to the face for either not realizing/not caring about certain PC things may be in order.

Rapier, if I had seen him I would have wanted to crack his arse sideways, so trust me, you're not alone on being offended. That being said, his goal was not to get into the mood of reenactment, it was to purvey rampant asshattery, get attention, and try and disrupt the faire for his own ego, and I refuse to let him ruin the show for me. Still, if he slipped in a mud puddle repeatedly...

Since the Nazi guy seems to be the dominant topic, I'm going to post on it and respectfully disagree with the majority opinion (including you Breandan, which is rare) and say that I believe some of the reactions are a bit harsh when you put things in context.

Nazism itself and the acts committed by some of those who followed it are indefensible and I'm not going to claim for a second that the costume is appropriate for the setting or that folks wouldn't have a reason to be offended, just that perhaps some perspective on alternative views would help.

I liken the issue to this: Being of Irish ancestry, I could choose to be offended by the constant glorification of all things British and Scottish at Faire.  British conquest and occupation did after all, cost the Irish untold lives and virtually destroyed the original culture of the island.  The average person's perception of Ireland now runs something like "generally British with a few quirks", but in history the truth is quite different.  Breandan could tell you a lot more about early Ireland and how it differs from modern Irish culture, but that would drag this even further off topic.

In my mind, both are deeply wrong, cost untold lives, wrecked cultures and I can't see getting any more worked up over one than the other.  The main difference to me is, nazism is just more recent.

Now if you want to go on the tangent that it is inappropriate in a renaissance or fantasy faire setting, I am right there with you!

/me prepares for the flames...

I don't mean to be argumentative or get too far off topic, but I have to disagree with you on this one.  I am not an expert but I believe the British mainly wanted to colonize Ireland.  At least in the beginning I do not think they strove to annihilate a race.  Possibly you could compare that to what the Nazi's did in Poland or Eastern Europe but there is no comparison to how they treated the Jews, Gypsy's, Freemasons and others.  They strove to wipe those people off the face of the earth, not just convert them to their way of life.  To me one was done in bloody ignorance, the other was pure evil.

Soapbox replaced.

Ok, all i'm wondering is why the Scots were lumped in with the English?    Scots have more in common, including blood, with the Irish than the English & Welsh.

*whistles innocently* ;D

I agree!
The reason the weed puller dressed the way he did was to get attention ( which he did) and to get a rise out of people ( which he did). I have a good friend who's mother was in the concentration camp, she made it, most of her family did not. The "Natzi's did horrible horrible things, as far as I'm concerned there is NEVER a right time to dress as a NATZI....
He didn't belong at TRF and that's that! now if we get into the discussion of costuming etc...for that matter Gene Simmons (the guy dressed as) didn't really belong either. The difference is the guy dressed as Gene Simmons was doing it for fun, the guy dressed as a Natzi was doing it to hurt and to shock.
This somehow has turned into a a lets talk about the opening weeking, to getting a bit hard and serious and  becoming a discussion about the rights and wrongs of dressing as a NATZI at a TRF.
I am all for being unique and original and being different. Hurting people for the sake of shock is just wrong... maybe some could care less what he was wearing...I care about the kids that saw and it may have affected (effected?) (not very good at spelling or grammar please forgive) kids remember crap like that, they are little sponges and they learn from watching and observing,,, I'm glad I won't have that  to explain to any of the kids in my life.
Can we go back to the good things about opening weekend? I'm sorry to have mentioned seeing him....

Fraser, when are you getting your butt out there?

Since I didn't get much of a chance to get out, due to smithing Sat and being broken Sun, I didn't see much. I did hear about a whip show that was there for that weekend only, anyone get to see it?

dressing as a Nazi is stupid, insensitive, etc...
However, we live in one of the few places in the world that has freedom of speech.
Advocating violence as a means to take away a persons freedom of speech is MUCH worse than dressing like a Nazi.

How do you think Nazism got started?  It started because somebody didn't like the way somebody else dressed, talked, looked, and they decided to use violence to stop it.

Nobody is asking you to like his message.  However, you must respect his right to convey it or we will all be on the slippery slope towards freedom for no one.

I'm going to make this my final post on this topic, on this thread, but I find the conversation interesting (and surprisingly flame free), if we'd like to continue in a more appropriate venue, I'm game.

QuoteI don't mean to be argumentative or get too far off topic, but I have to disagree with you on this one.  I am not an expert but I believe the British mainly wanted to colonize Ireland.  At least in the beginning I do not think they strove to annihilate a race.  Possibly you could compare that to what the Nazi's did in Poland or Eastern Europe but there is no comparison to how they treated the Jews, Gypsy's, Freemasons and others

Though there are notable differences, I do believe Cromwell's conquest (an English re-conquest) of Ireland is comparable, whatever the intent, the end result was still the death or exile of 15-25 percent of the Irish population, some less reliable estimates put the total as high as 50 percent.  Slaughter is slaughter and dispossessing a population is dispossessing a population whether the reasons are religion, culture or race.

Back to the main argument, does this make someone walking around in English renaissance era clothing flying Cromwells banner offensive to me to the point that I would advocate violence or "inducing an accident"?  No, it does not, in fact I would barely take note of it.  Same with the nazi uniform.

Kitara and I caught a small part of the whip show while walking past toward the privies.  What we saw was pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary for a whip show.

Lishy: I didn't know you working over there in the tents.  Which one are you at?  I probably past by you several times on Saturday and didn't even know it.

To quote that great and oft time underappreciated military philosopher Sgt. Schultz, "I see nothing! I know nothing!"...because I don't. I wasn't there that weekend...but you guys in all you faire related topics and seething irritation toward people who can't even get a more modern well documented and easily pieced together bit of WWII attire together are making me feel like I was there..which I wish I was....for the sake of trouncing in the mud, finally meeting you clan peoples and playtrons alike...and kicking the SS guy. Not for what he represented (or shall I say for what he was perceived to represent), but I loooooathe people who wish to make it all about them and do so in hideously garish and painstakingly douche-ish fashion...Let him have his reasons
as long as I got to exercise my right to kick him...well lets leave it up to another to say it more succinctly.

Well, you know it is 1001 Dreams this week.  All you need are some fairy wings to go with your skirt and you'll be set!

Just kidding :)  Did the wife get her wings?

Do you have any purple? Purple would work with the Pirate theme...or use the failsafe color of brown or even white...

Can't wait to see you and Dorian...maybe this time I will even get to meet the hubby...hehe

Lady Elizabeth...that is such a wonderful picture of you and Dorian! I actually saw you and your sis opening Sunday and by the time I was able to get to you at the Sea Devil (thanks to my 1 yr old being fussy) the two of you got away from me before I could come over and introduce myself. Hopefully next time Gareth will be more cooperative :)

That stinks that Jacob left the jacket...Oh well, I am sure there will be other options you can come up with  ;)
