CLAN MCLOTOFUS 3RD ANNUAL THANKSGIVING POT LUCK DINNER
7:30pm, Thanksgiving Day
Welcome one and all! Please attend and bring a dish and your appetite. Last year, we witnessed what happens when Red Dog and chainsaws play together, and noted what happens when pies multiply. We had visitors from about 5 different clans, and welcome all of them back to our table again this year!
Please post your arrival time, as well as what you can bring. Note that we will also be in need of cleanup, chairs, paper products, tables, and firewood as well.

*NOTE- We will have LARGE numbers out for this (I hope anyways). Please remember to make enough to feed at least 15-20 people, at least for the main side dishes. Specialty dishes and smaller portions of meats are excluded LOL :P

Hoping hubby and I can make it. Our general plans are to feed the prodigal daughter around Noon on Thursday then head south to TRF. I would expect we'll be in the area not later than 6ish.
As my cooking leaves a lot to be desired, and I'm going to be a somewhat late arrival, could I send some funding for supplies in lieu of a bad cooking experiment that would be traveling in the car for too many hours?
Also as a non-camper, we'll need to beg someone to point us in the right direction of finding you!

Lady Kett, you could either send fundage, OR bring a frozen pie or rolls or something of the sort. We welcome all sorts of NOMS, even if they come pre-packaged LOL!
If you'd experienced my kitchen skills, you'd aim for funding LOL. I can screw up noms even with close supervision on the simplest of things. It causes a great amount of laughter around here! Our household motto is, "as long as it makes a good story at work..."

The Hubby and I may make it out for a visit that night but I'm not too sure...will update as soon as I know what's going on.
I'll be there with the 'Shark, wife, and possibly the stepson. I may pull out a cheesecake recipe I've been neglecting, too. Nobody tell Teach! It has rum in it! I've also got my 10x12 canvas tent. So with a bit of help from the ML crew, we can put up a good shelter if the weather is stupid.

He has better sense! The camp cook does not do Thanksgiving dinner. That one is everybody else's job. He can share his kitchen, but cooking is clearly out. ;)
Of course it's his kitchen so I can't make his rules. If you ask nicely he might agree, but if it was me the answer would be no.
Well, we made it past AHE, so who's coming to dinner??? It looks like we'll have quite a group coming so far, but no posted definites. Also, some of our participant friends will be joining us as well.
I can't wait for turkey, it's my fave food EVAR!

Due to my recent induction into Chaos, I will not be camping with McLotofUs on Thanksgiving weekend.
Normally, the Drunken Gnomes didn't camp on the final weekend, so I hooked up on Row 8 with the BlueGirl group.
Sorry, but the lemon-rosemary Cornish game hens will now be served on Row 0. They have been marinating for a few days and will get their final baking this weekend in preparation for serving Thursday.
BTW, my Chaos/TheClaw name is Doozer. Jees, I'm a Saturday cartoon character (FraggleRock).

Yeah...your foodstuffs is much better than ours..and as our main food guy is detained til Friday night. SO our camp may go hungryish..but tis okay. A little suffering is good for a person. SO! Mouse... everyone is welcome to join in the feast. Just bring something (large enough for lots of people) with you to share, and let Blue know how many of you there will be. You might also see of there is something else you can help with, like a table or extra chairs... something like that. Look on the first page of this thread and see if there's a need that has yet to be met.

Wow. I am overcome with comradery and happiness for having met such people as these. But sadly, while enthused about the substance of the people I have met, I won't be there til Friday evening. Which, me and some of my ilk are planning on coming over Friday at the earliest, especially one of my better looking friends..all you single peoples, if indeed you exist within that group. She finds men in kilts, quite appealing by the by. At the very least me, since I will be hard pressed to find the camp saturday night, as the festivities will start early for me...I do so love my liquid bread.

I HAD plannedon being there..and as for chewing on sticks to survive, the rest of my group may be. The guy who was to provide the mainbulk was detained by work, but they will manage. We always do, quite well. But thank you. As for me, HA! I will be stuffing myself on leftovers. So, seems I would of been fat and happy which ever the outcome. And my fires dont sputter! So, as it comes down to the wire our plans have changed (as usual). After a funeral, a major surgery and other mishaps in our extended family, it looks like we will not be able to make the dinner Thursday night as planned. We are still trying to work out making it out Friday to camp and attend faire on Saturday. I'm crossing my fingers on this. Samedi MIGHT not be able to come, but my mom and I are set on making it happen one last time before the season ends. (Even if it means dragging along faire virgin relatives with us!) We've never attended Closing weekend. And, we're determined.
I'm really saddened that we can't make the pot luck. It sounds like it's going to be great fun and food. Ahh well, maybe next year. I wish you all the best time ever!
