First, the random question. Who would be the best person to start asking questions about putting in an extremely insignificant alteration to camp grounds, that would come out of campers pockets?
Second, the thought. I'm beggining to find it increasingly difficult to tell people where my groups located as to where Chaos is located, and McLotofus etc etc. Why is it all of these roads don't have an old treated 4x4 driven down along them and a nice burned/etched wooden sign with some kinda funny name on it? We're at that point where we keep getting all of these new roads put in, and when I was at Pennsic, folks brought out signs to jam down into the ground to desginate what road was what....
They weren't the properties signs, but sure enough everyone knew which road was which simply because theyd been there every year. I really just think we need a "too damn far" road over in the quiet camping and a "black eyeliner and thievery" street. We probably wouldnt put up a loki alley (even though it'd be cool) simply because attention is NOT what they need, but I think I've gotten the general idea across... what do folks think?
I'd like to know the answer to your first question as well. I really like my ideas (cause their mine) of isolating the campground from the parking lanes.
As far as finding camps goes, road signs would definitely be a nicety. Up until now, we've used Mike Pullen's map and mainstay landmarks such as the slime pit (aka fire pit) and chaos corner. Since Procrastination camps right behind Chaos its quite easy to find us.
McLotofus traditionally camps at Row 8 of the parking lanes. We are right at the road. We do have signs with our camp name etc. You will see those out on AHE for sure.
I have some blank banners that I need to get done up with our clan name. Its on my to do list. But at least I did finally get our flag made and that flys out side our camp for all passer bys to see

also, might want to put a rod in the TOP of the flag, or hang fromt he top, as I had to open it up to be sure that was the right one, and shyer people than me might not do so...
Actually I had another sleeve sewn into the right hand side so that it could be put up with two poles. Unfortunately, I was short a pole )o: Hopefully by AHE I will have a second pole.
As far as the other banners go, I could definitely use some help. They are pennant style banners. If you decide to come out closing weekend I'll bring them with me so you can see them. They are plain white (or off white) so that they could be painted. Someone will have to come up with a clan design to put on them along with the clan name. You may be just the sucker person to get that done ::)

There are alot of things alot of us would like to see happen at the campgrounds. Unfortunately, we need an EPIC sized crowbar to unpry good ol G's wallet to spend the money needed.
I wonder if we all went to TRF and said, hey, this is what we want, and here is what we will pay" if they would let us do it then.
There have been unconfirmed rumors of someone buying land near TRF and opening up a clan/members only campsite, with permanent structures (REAL bathrooms, electricity, camp kitchens, infirmary, etc) and the like. I personally would be all for it but I know many don't like the hassle of not being able to walk over from faire, and I also know the insurance costs would kill. Still, its an idea. . .
Oh to have the money... Though dreams of faerie dust blowin out my rear? Nah!
