It was pretty much all northern suburbs of Minneapolis. We didn't see more than a couple drops and a few wind gusts in our neighborhood just south of Lake Street.
I was running home in it this afternoon, honestly thought I was going to get blown off the road! Lot's of golfball sized hail. I hear a two year old child died in Hugo today...so sad. Their sibling and parents are in the hospital. My prayers go out to the family that suffered such a loss today.
Hey Sleepy...came closs to you didn't it? You get much damage?
Not a heck of lot happened here on the south side. We saw some dark clouds here in Lakeville, and we sure could smell the rain in the air, but that was about it.
It's actually been a pretty nice day here. A bit muggy is all.
Hugo got the worst of the storm, and I don't believe any MNRF's live there.
The tornado's were up in Polk county. Ladiedragon & I didn't see a drop of rain and we drove from Belle Plaine to St. Paul to Fairbault then back to Belle Plaine. That was about a 100 mile circle.
im in hopkins, and im fine.
we went swimming in the apt pool that just opened... a buncha other people came in after us... some guy mentioned a tornado in coon rapids. and later we left and got normal clothes back on and stuff ... looked outside and the wind was really bad... EVERYONE was gone from the pool and dark clouds in the sky.
ten minutes later it was gone. from the radar map a two very severe (dark red) storms went by north of the cities.
Yeah, like Genta said, it was crazy when the guy came out and was talking about the tornado at the pool. We went inside a few minutes later, just a couple minutes after that I looked out the window and it was crazy windy. But other than that, we just got the dark clouds. No rain or anything.
Me, DB, Nyte and Lady Lily are all ok, We were at toarmods house.
I am good as well, thanks for asking. The sirens went off, it got little dark, sprinkled about two drops and passed off to the north.
MG and VV-I know you are in TN this weekend, hope your house is okay, the scary weather was in your neck of the woods.
My Uncle Nick lives in Star Prairie, WI and it was supposed to hit hard there. I haven't heard weather he fared well or not. No news is good news I hope.
Well...as sleepy said...I'm ok. So are Toarmod and Synnovea and I got a message from GracefulCarrie, so I'm fairly certain she just fine too!
As I said, things were pretty good here on the south side tonight.
Just got back from a bonfire at the neighbors. It ended up being a good night for a bonfire!...
All the bad stuff went north of us....
Glad everyone is okay. My family is originally from the Wisconsin, Illinois area, and I rememember how it wa slike during tornado season, and the damage they can do, so i am glad so far all my friends and family on here are okay!.
I wonder how all our gang at the rendezvous in Tennesee this weekend are doing. I saw they were suppose to get some strong storms today.
I tell you this has been a year for crazy weather so far !
Tornado touch down was reported just 3-4 miles from our house. Lots of sirens and dark clouds, but we didn't see anything here. We got some marble sized hail after the tornado, and Josh's car now has a ding from that. I still haven't repaired the hail damage on my car from last summer, so I don't know if I have any "new" dents. My parents in Coon Rapids also reported that they didn't see anything, however they ended up with a tree down that they have to take care of.
It was close, but we're OK here.
We didn't see a thing here in the city. Glad everyone who did see some action is okay too!!
I'm glad for everyone that is okay! ;D
Waiting to hear from all that haven't checked in! ???
I was out of town...all fine on the south metro front!
MG and VV checking in. All is well here. We didn't see (well, our house/neighborhood) didn't see any damage but our friends, just a few miles west took major damage. The side of their house looks as though it were hit but a baseball launcher. The siding is destroyed, the slide on the play fort looks like Swiss cheese, the tile table on the deck has about 50% gone. It's bad. Thankfully, they were all up north camping with friends this past weekend and are safe.
BTW, I was in TN. VV was up north with the boys, camping with these friends.
Hugs all around.
Good to hear everyone is okay! Being here in TN...I know how scary it can be. $6000 damage to my house here before I left for the islands.
I know Lady Kathleen of Olmsted is OK as well as I have been conversing with her on a daily babses. She was in the safe zone from what she reported to me. She has been so busy sewing that she hasn't had time to check in on the forum.
Glad she and her family are OK
Mad Jack Wolfe lives in Blaine, Minnesota and haven't heard a word from that direction. Has anyone else?
Rumba, love, if it weren't for you I would have missed this thread entirely. :-*
We're just fine. No damage to the house, but we lost a flag pole and one of our lawn chairs is in the lake. Maybe I can get federal funding for having established an artificial reef? ;D
Here's a picture I managed to get of the tornado forming, right before touchdown...

That's entirely to close for comfort to a tornado for my comfort DB. Just glad alls well with you and yours, and everyone.
Ooooo, I forgot how creepy that was :o
...great shot though, DB!
I believe Lady Kathleen and I live in the same town now, so she was well in the safe zone. I didn't even know about it until the next day.
Glad everyone is alright and DB, thats a freaky picture.
And I thought I was in tornadoe alley. I am glad everyone is safe... having seen teh massive destruction wrought by those things (Greensburg Kansas is like 40 miles from where I live) I know how scary they can be.
we were up north at grandpa and grandma's property and the winds picked up and shook the trailer but the tornados didnt hit us either. Im glad every one is safe and sound.
