Title: Pyrates Royale at CRF, Nov 14 - 15
Post by: will paisley on November 09, 2009, 02:40:45 PM
The Pyrates Royale will be performing at CRF, this weekend only, Nov 14-15.  If you've never seen them before, make sure not to miss them.  If you've seen them before, you know to go see them again.  They're either a musical act with an amazing sense of humor, or an improv troupe with outstanding musical skills. The best way to describe them is Whose Line meets Rocky Horror via shanty singing.  Don't be surprised if there's a large crowd of rennies following them from stage to stage, singing along with every song (even the ones in Gaelic). Don't be surprised if they work the Budweiser commercial jingle or the Little Drummer Boy into a sea shanty, or if the song about their pirate ship sounds a lot like Crosby, Stills and Nash.  Don't be surprised if a song about rum switches to Dire Straits or Who Let The Dogs Out, or if a conga line forms in the middle of the performance.   This is their sole performance at CRF this season, and the last chance to see them this year.  Don't miss it!

Speaking of "Who is letting the dogs out".  HMHounds will be dropping anchor as well at CRF this weekend in their annual exchange program with the Hounds of East Fairhaven. Since it is Pirate Christmas, these are the more literal "Sea Dogs"   :D
