By Decree of Good Queen Bonnie of the Kingdom of Glen Livet, the Royal Order of Landsharks is now open for membership. We are privateers who have looked at 40, are happiest at sea and dangerous on land, and who call Sir Jimmy of Buffett our most well-beloved minstrel. Younglings will known as "Guppies" until such a time as they reach majority - at 40, of course.
Please PM me with your persona name and e-mail address if you are interested in joining the ranks of the Royal Order of Landsharks. If you will send your name & snail mail address at the same time, I will be working on a badge in the near future. I will be following up next week & beg your indulgence.
Fins Up! - Taffy Saltwater, Landshark No. 1, Township of Margaritaville, County of Lager, Kingdom of Glen Livet

Landshark 37 checking in. Was out sharking the town this weekend, fins were high! Welcome new sharkies and guppies!
I've been wondering, how many of this great group of land sharks have actually been out to sea.
I've been wondering, how many of this great group of land sharks have actually been out to sea. No specific reason, I was just wondering. Myself, I've been out to sea in the Navy. Several times in what one would call heavy seas of 4 feet. The most interesting where Hurricane Helene, which was a level 4, fun ride. Then Hurricane Hugo category 5. Mr Toad's wild ride had nothing on that one.
Many a pirate started out as a sailor in the Royal Navy, so I there is a perfectly good reason you could jump ship, so to speak, to a pirate's life. Fins UP!
Taffy on an slight off note, where did you get the pins and clutchbacks you are putting on the picks? I need to make a pin and those would be perfect! Thanks.

Got mine this week and I'll wear it proudly. Can you help and remind me what my number is? Thanks Again.
Huzzah to all the new fish! Add a little salt!
The trick is to be unconscious before you hit the ground, mate. :D

My grandson who just turned four was put on a surfboard over at Cocoa for the first time last month.
Made me proud!
A definite FINS UP there!
Newbie, have your info, just thought I'd phin you at phaire. Otherwise, new phins take a longish while to get out - particularly when every non-working moment has been spent readying for phaire.
That goes for all the other new members - I think the phins have gone out through No. 85 - if you see me, please introduce yourself & I'll be glad to take care of it.
Phour more sleeps to phest!
Just wanted to drop in and say hello and sorry I missed everyone opening weekend. I have good reason though...we have a brand new guppy, Gareth Andrews was born Oct. 11, 2008 at 2:23pm...pics will be posted soon (once I figure out how) ;D
Fins Up!
...I attended first weekend & blew out a knee so I haven't been there the last two weekends...
Rami (& other as yet phinned LS's), your Letter of Marque will be issued by me, as authorized by our Goode Queene Bonnie, and will be sent together w/your phin. I'm working on them, & if I can get over this gee-golly intestinal upset, I'll try to get at least a few out this weekend.
...if I can get over this gee-golly intestinal upset...
A Very Helpful Hint (as the pin backs tend to slip off) that was given to me is to take a toenail clipper & holding it against the groove on the pin, run the clipper around the groove to give the pin a little more hold.
I'm so glad the packages are starting to come in & Phins UP!
PHINS UP!!!
Welcome to you all. Now where the devil did that cheeseburger go.......
I think MacLaren is stashing the cheeseburgers!!! He's just trying to throw us off the scent! Yeah, that's it!!! It's aaaall him... 8)
Hmmmm... are we allowed to raid one of our own... if they are not sharing the booty???
I think you just wanna see if he's got 'em under that kilt... !!! ROFL

No, I've have a kilt wearer at home that gets frequent checks. And now that I have eaten lunch, I'm not so worried about the cheeseburgers anymore.
Still can't find that cheeseburger.....I thought there was one, but it disappeared.....
Maybe it got consumed.....don't remember....or was that the Margarita at the Mexican food place a little while ago....
I assure you all that there's no hoarding going on here....and did I read something about a kilt check?
Standing at the er, ready, my dear!! ;D
I do hope your hands have been near fire today....it's rather chilly out lately! ;)
Hey, you dug your own hole on that one! As long as Zaubon doesn't chime in with my big one I'm okay! We've all been there and done that at least once.
That aside, just make sure hands are WARM!!! PLEASE?!!
:-*
Party time ;D :D ;D
LOL No worries... foot-in-mouth seems to be my perpetual state these days, and I'm quite adept at getting it in there all by my lonesome!!! (It's just less ridiculous looking if you're standing there with someone in a similar predicament...!)
Some day I hope to get one of those filters... you know, the one that most people are born with, that stops them from saying things that no one in their right mind would ever dream of saying out loud?!? Yeah... that's my dream...
ROFL
I am so happy that so many of us are coming out of the shoe closet about this sad affliction!!! I was accused just the other day (by Fairyfly) of giving some of her Ettes a run for their money when it comes to my own Wenchmouthing... and there I thought I was being really very good!!!
;D ROFL!!! ;D
Oops... sorry about the short term hijack, Taffy... And now back to your regular programming!!!
Why pretend? ;D
Well, you might have heard this before, but...
Nice girls ask, but naughty(i.e. really GOOD) girls find out for themselves.
Does that help any? ;)
Is "nice" a word?
I am officially naughty .... ;D
.I am officially naughty .... ;D
Doesnt it fell good.
To quote the Patron Saint of Wenches, "When I'm good, I'm very, very good; But when I'm bad, I'm better."
Nothing naughty goin' on just yet.
Hoist the flags! Mind those cannons!! Get ready mates!! Are those Latitudes changed?
I notice we've not heard from any of our male counterparts as regards this topic... ::)
C'mon, men, show us yer booty!!! ;)
Would any of the Shiver like to get together one evening at RenDezvous? I can promise St. Jimmy tunes & have a Frozen Concoction maker that is feeling neglected!
CaptMorgan Private Stock is pretty sippable. :)
Lazy Conch
2 oz. Captain Morgan's Spiced rum
2 oz. Welch's white grape juice

Come to think of it, I've had rum (and other spirits) with just about ever juice imaginable, but for some strange reason never with grape juice. This is really odd considering I usually have a bottle of white grape juice in the fridge. :)
Jimmy Buffett's coming to town in May! Sadly I has no job so I debated going.... THEN I found a Pirate Parrot Hat! I think I have to get the hat and go now! :D
I found a Landshark t-shirt on sale at wally world yesterday. It even says fins up on the front. ;D
I'm going to be moving in the next few weeks and my address book is in a box somewhere.
We use evaporative coolers here to add humidity to our homes...otherwise your wood furniture will dry out and split. Never needed that in St. Louis!!
