Just finished a book called Let it Burn, by Allison Montclair (actually Alan Gordon), the 9th of a series about Iris Sparks and Gwendolyn Bainbridge. Set in post-war London, the series follows the adventures of the two women who open a marriage bureau when they realize the end of the war brought the unexpected challenge of men and women trying to navigate rebuilding not only the physical aspects of the city, but also the more prosaic ones such as finding potential partners. And then somehow, they end up solving crimes, too. Actually, the first several books were well-written and interesting, but I haven't found the last few to be up to the early ones. But now I have to start the book for our non-fiction book club in a few weeks; Christopher Finch's Jim Henson: The Works- The Art, The Magic, The Imagination. Quite a change from post-WWII London.

I haven't yet checked Bristol's entertainment schedule to see if there are any additional performers. I very seldom buy things from vendors; only so much money, and so many places to display things! Sorry, vendors; I still appreciate your work, truly.
