Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival / My First Time Ever at Faire
Last post by Patrick - June 04, 2025, 04:19:14 PM
Sunday, September 2, 2007, my first time ever at a faire. I had no idea how much this day would change my life. I was introduced to it all by Professor M; we worked together at the science center. My four year old son was with me, and he enjoyed it too.

The women on the parapet are the Naughty Bawdy Babes.

While we rarely visit New Market Village anymore, it will forever be the catalyst to our family's Rennie ways. I first visited in 2000 at age 24, and was immediately drawn in to the imagination.

Here there be pirates (historically out of place but carousing all the same). And I was hooked. Our daughter grew up in the TRF campgrounds and later the Sherwood campground.

All that said, I am very curious to see what path the new owners take. I wouldn't mind a little back story on them as well.

Videos, short-form or long-form, are such an integral part of our society today.

I'm about 50 pages from finishing "When the Moon Hits Your Eye," by SF writer John Scalzi. For an as-yet unknown reason, the moon has turned to cheese, including all of the samples of moon rocks brought back by NASA. It's been a wild ride of a book, and I can't imagine how this one is going to turn out.

Professionals may have better training, but amateurs often make goofier videos.
