They have also announced that the Feast of Fantasy will still happen the last two weekends of August even though the festival overall is postponed. They are planning on moving to from the feast hall to one of the big tents to make distancing easier. No idea how many of the performers who normally entertain during the feast will be willing to appear. They are willing to transfer the tickets to 2021 groupsales@renaissancefest.com

Peterson appeared before the Scott County Council and asked them for a letter of support to accompany his request to the state to open the festival. He claimed “All of our vendors are wildly anxious to come … they’re clamoring to come…” A video of the meeting is on their Youtube channel

One of the council members has replied that in response to Peterson's statements she received over 100 Emails from people connected to the Festival. She said the "comments and requests are compelling" and she will oppose giving a letter of support to Peterson based on the feedback she has received.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival announces we will not operate the Festival in 2020. This decision is made after careful consideration following significant preparation to provide a safe experience for all of our guests and participants, acquiring all safety measures and reducing our attendance by half; unfortunately our preparation cannot overcome the many external uncertainties we are all experiencing. While many businesses can operate with restrictions the Festival we have always worked to put on is a variety of up-close and highly interactive experience for our customers and villagers. We cannot offer you the shops, entertainment, feasting and frivolity that has been our hallmark. It has been our pleasure to share our village with you for forty-three years and we look forward to once again visiting with you in Revel Grove with the 2021 Maryland Renaissance Festival.

A lot of people said they weren't coming if they couldn't use their tickets anytime. But you can still buy tickets as you get closer to your dates just not at as big of discount. I suspect it will be lighter attendance but I don't think it will be empty. I would bet a lot of those people will decide they still want to go once we get closer to opening.

I had that suspicion based on how slowly the numbers were declining while I watched. I wonder if that is an Omen to the season?

From what I've read, no. They had ones for many weekends left.
