VENDORS, DEALERS, ARTISTS AND AUTHORS, PRAY ATTEND!

Behold! We now have a new convention in Houston, Space City Con and it looks to have the potential to become the Texas equivalent of Dragon*Con in time. This puppy has potential, trust me. I'll be attending as a guest (author), and our company will be there as a game company. Anyway, the staff of SCC told me that since the con is in early August they want to tie in with the Ren Faire community, both to use SCC as a launch platform for TRF itself (they're going to talk to Terre at some point soon I believe) and- more to the point of this post- to give TRF vendors another place to sell their wares in the run-up to faire season. SCC is a sci-fi/fantasy/gaming con, so rennie vendors will probably do well there, especially clothing, gear, weapon and artisan vendors. The "early bird" cost for tables is reasonable considering the location (Westin hotel, two- possibly three- entire floors of convention space, connected to the Galleria Mall, with free parking no less), and they are working on bringing in some big name guests which should increase the draw. They already have the Hickmans (of Dragonlance fame), and are working on others. They are also wanting local Texas talent as well for Artist's Alley- game publishers and designers, artists and authors, etc. Besides, Dark Nova Games will be there, so I'd prefer to have neighbors I know :D
