An Ode to Faire- TRF!.....(found last year on the Intrarwebs LOL)

OctoberFest:



For many a month we have all been cold sober

But huzzah, huzzah for the month of October!

When fair maidens, brave knights, pirates and wenches

Don their best garb and tighten those cinches!

For all will be gathering in the lanes of yore

To rekindle old friendships and add sparks to many more!

Bellies will be full with offerings from the pantry

And many a merchant will have favors aplenty!

The mead will be flowing, the keg will be tapped,

The rum will be running, huzzah to that!

A grand time will be had by all this Autumn

As long as the drink does not knock us on our bottoms!

At last all will say we are no longer cold sober,

So Huzzah, Huzzah to the month of October!

I saw it on the blog page last year and sent it up to Sarah at Moresca. When I left my job, I lost it. I called Sarah this season to give some orders, and she said that she had a copy on the wall at Moresca, and at some northern faire. She copied it and sent it back to me.

Alas, it comes full circle!

Well I hope the gang at Moresca and everyone else enjoys the Ode.   I was drooling at goodies in Moresca a couple of times during Scarby.  I wish I had known then that they had a copy of my poem.

I am so ready for TRF to begin.  I am in Magnolia, about five miles from the faire site and have to slap my hand everytime I want to run up to the gates and say 'open, open, open' lol!

Living so close is sort of a double edged sword, lol!  It's great when the season is open, but a absolute tease when it's not!
