I absolutely LOVE Chepstow Castle in Wales!

DonaCatalina

Chepstow
So many Castles in Wales grew out of Edward I's desire to subdue Wales. But Chepstow
is actually a Norman Castle dating from 1067.

Hohenwerfen

Approx. 40 km south of the city of Salzburg, Hohenwerfen Castle towers above the Salzach Valley as a strategic bulwark built atop a 155 meter rock.

Beautiful view from one tower.

Pioz

Castillo de Pioz was built by Cardinal Pedro Gonzalez de Mendoza to resemble fortified palaces that he had seen in Italy.
The castle is surrounded by a dry moat.

Veldenstein
The earliest record of this castle is 1269 when it was known as Neuhaus. It was renamed around 1323 when it came into the possesion of the Bishopric.

Tremayne

Ooo! Love the location of this one too. The edifice itself is a bit stark but love the tower high above it all.
