Pubs at Scarby

If you are visiting Scarborough for RenDevous I recommend the Boarshead tavern. Paul is a great bartender and there's rarely a line since a lot of people don't even realize that its a pub!

The Dirty Duck pub near the chess field also is a good place to visit because its lines are shorter and its not far from one of the nicer privies.

I printed a terrific map of the village so I could keep track of recommendations... where is the Boarshead Tavern?  I found the Dirty Duck.   Oh, and the bakery.

The Boarshead is adjacent to the Crown kitchens on the corner nearest the Crown stage.
Look for the number 50 on the festival map.

That's the map I printed-it's wonderful!   I now have the Boarshead properly marked.  My whole weekend may be spent just pub hopping!  LOL

That is exactly how I spend most of my trips.
The lovely ladies of our group shop and we hit the pubs as we go.
Scarby has pubs everywhere, quite a wonderful idea I think.

If you do go to the King's Pavilion Pub, you must say hello to the Purple Pub Wench.

And at the Alehouse Pub next to the Ladyhawke stage, say hello to Cousin John.

White Horse is always lovely to meet people as they come and go, so I always recommend it.

Go to the Cat n' Fiddle (which for Rendez is RIGHT there), and do the wine tasting with my dear friend, Betsy Hull.

They've also got cider at the Cat n' Fiddle.

It would be nice if I could just wander from pub to pub, but I'll have my renlet with me this time, so we'll have to do at least one or two other things, as well...

Do they allow renlets in the pubs at Scarby? They certainly are NOT allowed in POW at TRF. It was 9am when I walked into POW with my 1 year old, the pub was empty 'cept for me and the little one and the man behind the bar looked at my boy like he had the 'pox. Told me to get him out and don't touch the ground on the way out. Never had that experience before in any bar in Texas. Not the real ones anyway.

No they don't, but the tables outside the Cat and the Fiddle are fair game, as will be the tent out back, I'm sure... and most of the pubs seem to have outdoor seating that everyone prefers, so we can visit with everyone without having to actually be inside.  At least that's the way it worked at TRF...
